Jack stand pads/adaptors
Hello All,
I am going be putting my X5 up on 4 jack stands in a while and I want to protect the 4 "corner" points on the car from damage while supporting the car properly. I will lift the car using the front and rear jack points. Are there any adaptors that ca help? Thanks, Tom |

Depending on how often you are putting the car up on stands these may work
https://jackpointjackstands.com/ or a quickjack. these are the jackpad adapters: https://www.amazon.com/Aluminum-Anod...1zcF9hdGY&th=1

This jack stand has the jack built in. You'll need four, but lifting the car will be quicker and easier than a trolley jack and four conventional jack stands.

I have used the jackpads on my previous BMW, pretty solid construction and utility.

I place 1/2" thick high durometer rubber pads on top of the jack stands, you cannot see that in this pic. . |

ECS Tuning sells a nice aluminum jack pad puck that spreads the load so a jack stand won’t damage the plastic socket.
You can buy some plastic ones off of Amazon, but I don’t know how robust they are that probably would work. Amazon also has some in aluminum for about $8ea. But, you just need a block of say wood the shape of the socket that is deep enough to ensure the jack stand’s top doesn’t hit the plastic socket or the frame…I guess you’d want to see the shape of the top of your jack stands, but most of them tend to be sort of a shallow U. |

The tradition jack stand isn’t the best option unless you get an adapter to fit into the jack points (look on eBay). I would consider getting the round circular jack stands and pairing it with the metal puck adapter.
