Found this video for those of us waiting on our X6 M60i's. Was happy to see the side badging made it to the US production model for the X6.

That's interesting... I saw a different (presumably) US-spec X6 M60i and it did not have the badge on the side.

https://www.bmwmainline.com/new/BMW/...c1bdbbf52e.htm

I've attached one of the images in case the link is broken in the future.

I wonder if Peabody added that badge after delivery or the Mainline car was debadged?

Every US-spec M60i (X5 and X6) VIN I've decoded all have this:

S3DZ Omission of additional lettering, outer

...and that one in the video is the first one I've seen that had the badge on the side.

Despite what the video shows I do not think that badge is standard on US vehicles. My X6 M60i is scheduled for production on 04/28 so I'll have it the first week in May and we'll see then.

That is interesting. Agree it could go either way, but doesn't seem like Mainline would have debadged. Maybe the Peabody one got lucky and it was added at the factory by mistake, lol. Guess we will know more once others begin to take delivery. Although I plan to chrome delete, still would like it to already be on the car at delivery. May ask my CA to see if he has any insights.

Commented on the video to ask if it came from factory with badge. Will update if I hear back or if other M60i post otherwise.

Just a little curious here: S68?! I could maybe understand it a little better on the X7 M60i, since there will probably never be an X7M, but I don't understand why they would place the M-engine on the M60i models since the X5M and X6M will also have the S68? IIRC the non-LCI M performance ones had the N63, while the M-models had the S63. Is there some kind of reason for that or are they just cutting costs?

Saves development costs, a smart move by them using the same engine in various platforms and using tuning as the differentiation.

What are you using to decode VINs? I’d like to decode mine to see what comes up but every link I’ve seen posted comes back with an error. Thanks.

I've used the following:

https://www.mdecoder.com/
https://bimmer.work/

The first one has a daily limit. Not sure if the second one does. They both seem to return essentially the same information, and interestingly, they work even on vehicles that haven't been completed/delivered. My car's status is currently 155 and both decoders work with its VIN.

BMW removes them from the US-based iX’s too, but you can always add them like I did on mine.

Wow, some of the comments in here are so cringey. The obsession with little plastic M badges is dumb.

I think they come with the badge, not sure. But like some have stated, if you are one who really wants it you can always add it later, Im sure you can get it from parts dept (bmwpartspros.com)

The G06 LCI with S68 is seriously enticing. I wonder how the drive feels in comparison to the F96 LCI. A chiptune I'm guessing will up the power to 600+ numbers. Plus some other mods I'm sure it will soar like a full ///M.

Burger's baseline testing in stock configuration has it 580+. They are getting 100+ HP and TQ on 93 octane. Obviously more power to be uncorked with the new S68 than the prior M50i.
