Unexpected result of adaptive regen
As a big fan of one pedal driving, I was not thrilled when I started driving 50e and did not feel much regen after letting the gas pedal off.
However, then I learnt how it behaves in the traffic (i.e. slowing down when there is stopped traffic ahead, etc.) and I really like it. I noticed that the car slows down when you indicate a turn - unexpected result of using adaptive regen is me using blinkers... I just need to remember to top off the blinker fluid from time to time. EDIT added YT video showing the regen braking Last edited by bono; 11-09-2023 at 01:08 PM.. |

Now you said it, I think I notice similar behavior in 45e too. When I exist freeway, using right signal, I notice car slow down more than usual. Interesting founding

In US, Pre-LCI 45e has an adaptive recuperation in hybrid pro mode, meaning if you exit the highway or if there is a car in front - the car starts recuperating. Otherwise it is in a coasting mode. |

Agreed, I’ve noticed mine will slow for speed limit changes if you let off the accelerator and if the route is set in the navigation it will slow for roundabouts and turns without DAP being on.
As said it’s not full one pedal like an EV but actually it’s very close if you learn how it functions and fit in with it. |

Great feature and often overlooked, HOWEVER, if you read the BMW specs it says the following:
Included in this package is the Turn Signal feature which is provided for the first 8 years after vehicle sale. |
