That's correct, plenty of videos on you tube. Luckily I am not a great car washer, will be washing mine for first time this week as going on holiday.

When I spoke to an SA prior to ordering the car, I was told to either avoid factory matte paints, or to immediately PPF the entire car upon pick-up

The same story at a different dealership where I actually ordered and picked up my car. They said they discourage clients from getting frozen paints — or to PPF them. They had to repaint half of a totally new car because of bird droppings… there was a stain they couldn’t repair. And apparently painting one body panel isn’t an option - to keep things looking good they needed to paint an entire side…

So yep, frozen paints look great but bring some additional headaches or cost

Any car wash places in NY/Jersey that are reliable to wash frozen paint? I know it must be hand wash, but I’m afraid of what kind of soap they will use that will damage the paint.

I'm sure the road salt, brine solution they spray on the roads during winter in NY/NJ,acid rain and all the small pebbles/sand that get kicked up while driving will be slightly more concerning than the soap one uses to wash the exterior

Don’t think we’ve seen anyone doing that to a modern bmw led headlight. My guess is it would be near impossible, unless you are just tinting over it which is probably a terrible idea
