Stop sale for April builds?

Myself and someone else with a 40i build in Wk 16 April 13th ish were just informed of stop sales for PCD delivery this week. Major bummer. I can either attend PCD and not get the car (fly back for me) or reschedule PCD which will delay things further.

Any issues out there for people taking delivery the past few weeks? (I'm not hearing much) Any one else receive stop sale notices?

Not sure if this is for just a limited run or a broader problem that may lead to a recall. Kinda suprised given the minor changes vs 2024.

That's crazy! Sorry about that!! I was also Wk 16, picked up about 10 days ago. I haven't heard anything and would be very interested to know what this is all about??

Was told there is an SIB filed regarding front lower seat belt for x5/6 built between 4/3-20 that caused the stop. I imagine others will be hearing about this coming up.

I have a screen shot but not sure if I’m allowed to share or not.

Recall in my new future?? Most custom orders from that time period (aside from PCD) are already in driveways...

That would be my guess.

Yup just been alerted by my dealer that my delivery to the West Coast is being held at the dealers and won't be released until they fix "a seatbelt issue."

Was supposed to pick it up in the next few days but no timeline yet as to when the issue can be fixed.

Guess there's a silver lining in having to wait longer for west coast delivers in that at least it won't need to go in for a recall the second I pick it up!

If people want to check their VIN, I got this message on the German tech site. This appeared today but not yesterday.

https://www.bmw.at/de/footer/quick-l...-aktionen.html

“There is an open technical improvement to this vehicle. Please book an appointment online for your vehicle here by selecting "Service as needed" or contact your local BMW Service Partner here for more information. Improvement code: STOP025543”

Flew out of state to pick up a vehicle and the stop hit an hour before the sale was complete. Have been stuck where the car is for four days and can hopefully fly home tomorrow. Did t go as planned to say the least.

Did they give you any timeline for the fix?

They did not, said it could be days to weeks. The stop is in place but they don’t have a resolution yet. Could be an easy torque check because a wrench was out calibration or be a faulty part that needs to be replaced. All that anyone know is that it involves the lower front seatbelts.

To add to it, this is for all the Xs models made from 4/5-4/20. I was there to pickup a X7 M60.

That was too bad.

My X5 just showed as 'at the dealership' this afternoon but with this issue I have no idea when it can be picked up.

2nd stop sale seen in April (earlier one on valvetronic) ... Is this common for BMW?

I don't know of you could say it is common but definitely not unusual. I would guess it happens to all manufactures.

Happened to me too. Was supposed to go and take care of papers for Week 16 build and 5/23 PCD, but all cancelled.

Will take delivery at the dealer hopefully soonish (whenever they figure out the fix) and do the PC drive later this year.

Ominous that they canceled your pcd so far out. Indicates they don’t anticipate a fix for at least 2 weeks. Grrr.

That’s what I thought as well. But I’m guessing they do that because they don’t know when and what the fix will be. They would be required to hold and then repair all the vehicles once the remedy is available. Easier to just to punt to the dealers since it all seems to be a big unknown. Could be another day, or another two months. I’m really hoping on days.

I am traveling internationally the week before PCD and was supposed to do paperwork before I left. Apparently there is not enough time to do paperwork once I get back (3 days before) so they cancelled it. I was informed that PCD wants paperwork done 10 days in advance.

Ah. That makes sense. Ok so maybe not all doom and gloom. I was told all paperwork done 7 days prior to pcd pickup if you are using BMWFS.

Add the fact that they won’t release the car to dealer so that you can do paperwork until stop is cleared means you have to have PCD out a while if you stand a chance to keep your appointment.

I’m right in between that. I finished paperwork dated 5/6 in prep for 5/10. Stop sale came out 5/7.
