Common sense helps. If you're at the back of Walmart lot and someone will have to pass 100 empty spots to get to where you're parked it's hard to complain about someone taking up multiple spots. You've got RVs parked out there, commercial rigs, etc. Just didn't make sense to be offended over a spot your not going to use anyways when you have to pass many open spots to get to it.
Now parking across two up front, that's a different story, you're talking desirable spots someone would want. Not the same thing. |

Parking at the back a lot doesn't always prevent idiots from trying to park next to your car. Some people have a mania for parking their clunker next to a nicer car, some people just want to stand next to someone out of herd instinct (oh, if this dude parked here, it means this is a good place, so will I). I'm always amazed how my car acts like a magnet for assholes like this. For me, parking is also like a strategic choice to choose the best possible, and in my experience, sometimes it’s better to choose your neighbor yourself (you know that if you stand in between to say a Porsche and Range Rover, these guys are unlikely to open the door carelessly) than to stand far away and let others choosing to stand next to you.

The issue (for me at least) is not when someone parks next to you when you utilize an isolated area,as it's a public parking lot after all. The issue is when you're parked in that isolated spot and someone parks so close alongside you when there are several open spots in the immediate area, that there's no way you can open your door to get in your vehicle and have to use the passenger door to gain entry. It's clear to me that's done out of spite or simply to be an A-hole.
Thats the issue where I lose my shit

You know what irritates me more than people parking Uber close to me….. it’s when I’m double parked to wait for my wife or kids on a big 2 way street and some idiot proceeds to double park directly next to me across the street causing a bottle neck. Now cars in both directions are forced to wait and turns passing both of us. God forbid idiots have to walk an extra 5 steps if they didn’t park directly in front of the store…..

People just suck in general. No matter how far I park some douche always parks right up next to me barley able to squeeze into the vehicle.
Plus the lot is always empty where they could’ve parked anywhere else. SMH 🤦🏽‍♂️ |

I’ve given up. Doesn’t matter where you park. Tucked in a corner or far away. Most people, not me, like to swarm together.
Here we have 2 pics as evidence. In one, the silver Mazda decides the white parking lines should split the middle so she can get within 12” of the side of my previous M3. In the other, I parked my previous red stelvio quad way in the back of the lot. Several other cars decided to skip to 50+ open spots and completely surround my car. |

Why should I move to move when I was there first? Going by that logic if another car did the same I should just keep on moving down the block? Believe me Ive been forced to move because of idiots like this numerous times because knowing my luck I would get side swiped and not the guy.
I only double park if there is no other choice and I do it in a location where it doesn't impede traffic as much as possible. Obviously nobody else thinks like this.
