MHD Unlocker for S63 2020
Hi Guys,
Did anyone had tried to unlock the DME with the MHD Unlocker? I changed emails with them and they confirmed in a very very short email (as in the response was a plain: yes), that the DME can be unlocked with their Unlocker. Of course, only the pre 06/2020 versions but i could not find any info on the internet. I did managed to find some people online that praise the unlocker, but all of them were referring to different cars, even tho the engine was S63 or S58. I want to place the order but i don't want to see that X5M and X6M are not supported. Thanks |

Not the MHD specifically but I have the Mission Tuning M-Link. They basically do the same thing and have the same vehicle support. Those DME's are shared among a lot of vehicles. Same as the 3, 5, X series, B58, N63, S63 etc of the same year.
The MHD Instagram announcement says: Supported DMEs: -Produced before 06.2020 -B58 Gen1 and Gen2 -S58 -S63 (F9x) This would include the F95 (X5M) and F96 (X6M). I'd have no concerns buying it. |

There’s two ECUa for the S63 right? Any license issues or it can do both?

I second this. I had a local tuner tell me that he can unlock both the ECU, and i was intrigued because i did not read anywhere that i need to unlock another DME after unlocking one with MHD.

Correct, 2 DME's on V8. There's one for each bank. You have to physically disconnect the wiring harness on each DME and plug in the 2 connectors from the unlocker. It's the same process regardless of who does it and which tool. I can't speak for MHD but for the M-Link, you select the platform (8 cylinder) and it adds the extra DME license. Each DME requires a license and you can add licenses for other cars. The main advantage to these unlocks are the ability to DIY and unlock multiple times yourself after updates. If you're a 1 and done sort of customer, having someone else unlock is a better value by far.

Good info. Mine were sent off for unlocking by the race shop since it’s a 23, but I still like to learn. And who knows, maybe I’ll end up with a pre extra locked ECU car one day. I’m pretty sure the M2 is a May 2019 build. It was a lot less of a hassle to tune.
