New 2024 X5 Brake noise
Does anyone know what may cause a thumping noise to happen when coming to a complete stop ? I don't press on the brakes hard and it always happens when driving/stopping in slow speeds and stop and go traffic. My X5 is new, and only has about 800 miles on it. The thumping noise only happens when the car is at a complete stop. No noise happens when pressing on the brake.

After the brakes have worn in (the manual says something like 300-400 miles), when you’re out on a deserted road, try doing a couple of panic stops. Depending on conditions, you might have some brake compound stuck on your disk(s)…a panic stop should polish that off.
Make sure your wheel bolts are properly torqued down…should be 104ft-lbs. |
