Nice, would love to hear a clip if you can get one! They have a quick clip on their site but would be good to have a few more examples.
Here is the clip, sound, and full install by KIES Motorsports. I’m thinking of doing it as well at some point.

Speed limiter is present and can’t be removed (to the best of my awareness at least)
M badge on the grill can be removed also. For the speed governor you’ll need a tune like the JB4 S68 Tune from Turner Sports.

Congratulations! I remember that feeling. I’m still excited every day to get in my M60i, after 7000 miles.

That sounds really good! Couldn’t seem to find the listing on their site for the X5 M60i version though. 🤔

I’d reckon the difference would be minimal if any. What would be the difference between an X5 and an X7 that could impact the sound?

Always interesting to find out how some people want the ///M badging and others don’t. Here in the US, I’ve seen most often than not, people that want to display it or know that their car is some sort of ///M, be it an actual M-car or M-Sport. And then you have those that go out of their way to put an ///M badge even though it’s not an M-car or M-sport. Hence the reason the OT fake badges forum exists

To each their own I guess Your car is 🔥 I really love the full Tartufo interior which includes the lower part of the dash and center console (along with the M seats as I mentioned before), they definitely have to bring those options to the US.

I know what you mean. And I couldn't ever count all the times when I spotted an ///M badge (or an S, or an AMG, etc.) placed on some random base version of a low-cost model. I mean... this can't be seriously considered by anyone as any genuine value-adding feature on a car, can it?

as for the seats... they're insane. Another level good. While we did our "get to know" trip (150 miles roughly), my wife especially appreciated those little winglets (shoulder supports). They prove to be pretty good pillows... as she obviously fell asleep during the ride. So did my 5-yr-old. So much for family excitement

These guys did an awesome job. The car really sounds great and I'm seriously going to consider making this change. One thing is certain - this is not a DYI, in-your-garage kind of install (despite all the times the guy says "it's really easy")

I'll surely pass on the piggyback - warranty is voided the second you install the chip, and I'm not taking any risks

Looks great! I don’t understand why BMW NA neuters our seat options.

Very nice. Congratulations! I’ve had my m60i for 2 months now with about 1,300 miles driven, and love it.

A few more thoughts, which I’ve collected over the two day ownership so far

Things to love
  • How well this car hides its weight and size. It baffles me. This is a car the size of a delivery truck, yet drives and behaves like a middle sized wagon (I’m from Europe, remember - we have wagons over here)
  • How good is the overall value for money - all senses are catered for; things look good and are nice to the touch (design + materials + craftsmanship); comfort is superb (seats + suspension); noise levels are in unbelievably low
  • How amazing is the drivetrain - this I don’t need to elaborate on, I guess. I can’t wait for the run in period to end and to be able to experience its full potential
  • How economical it is - over the distance we drove so far (200 miles), fuel consumption is over 23 mpg (12 liters / 100 km). This is crazy low compared to my expectations (a Volvo V90 I had with a 2 liter 4-banger drank more). And I’m not driving like a nun…
  • How stealthy it is. I’m drawing zero attention - which personally is a great advantage (my previous car was a 7series in donnington grey, which appeared gold and was really noticeable)

Surely, there are concerns as well - my main two are:
  • I haven’t yet found a way to avoid sliding my left leg on the side skirt when getting out of the car. Something’s off with the seat positioning - the side skirt seems to protrude to the side and forces you to make a wide step to not touch it. Not great, considering it’s constantly raining and the car is … well, far from clean
  • The steering wheel seems to move very very lightly, almost to a point of making an impression of not being in any way connected with the wheels (I know it’s not, but the software should give it some more resistance). I need to put it in sport to feel like in my other cars
  • New addition:Trunk could be bigger (deeper). I hate the packing Tetris and I was hoping X5 would free me from this eternal problem... no luck. Dropping my 6-yr-old's little bike into the trunk essentially means I have to fit luggage in the empty rear seats, next to the 6-yr-old's Isofix chair... hate it

I guess I may be adding some thoughts along the way. Another few short journeys await me today

The side skirt is horrible. Had it also in my X5 45e 2 years ago, was a pain in the ass. I live in northern Spain where it rains half of the year, and my trousers tended to be stained with dust or mud everyday. I sold it and still don't know what could I do to prevent it apart from jumping out of the car. For me it is a big design mistake.
