Hello all,

Tomorrow I am test driving a 2024 X5M comp and I was wondering if it’s possible to disable iconic sounds whilst having the exhaust valves open? I remember seeing a video from AutoNL where the button for closing and opening valves was also controlling the iconic sounds so it didn’t look like you could control them independently but wanted to check with you all more experienced on this.

Basically i am trying to see if the X5M sounds better than X5 M60i with iconic sounds disabled and valves open.

Can’t answer your question but what I did is permanently open them with steel zip ties. Took 10 min and cost basically nothing. Interestingly I did the same to my wife’s 23 X3M and her car is much louder especially on cold start.
