Can anyone please let me know how I can see a zoomed in navigatable version of maps in my instrument cluster and iDrive screen? It worked earlier today but now all I’m seeing is a route overview which is locked in North orientation. What I want is as shown this YouTube video. If I follow same steps I only see a zoomed out version.

So I figured it out. Not sure why it works this way, but it does. If you tap the Apple Maps displayed in iDrive such that it takes over the entire screen, you get option to set orientation and zoom level. If in full screen mode, you set the map to North-orientation, in the other view that you get when you click Home button on iDrive, you’ll get the zoomed in version of maps. ie in full screen vs home-screen view, it will always be North orientated in one and zoomed in in the other.

Yes but it's a limited guidance - similar to native car navigation.

That's good enough for me.

It was working awesome for me for almost a year then my car went into service and now it’s all screwed up. I’ll try what you suggested today and report back.

Yes this is the new behavior. It weirded me out as well but I saw the same behavior in a rental car so it’s something with the newest iOS update. It didn’t do it before.

I personally find it annoying but I understand the logic of why. Just that I don’t like it.
