I am planning to order the 2024 x5 50e here in canada and was wondering if the following features are included/available.

5g esim
Gesture control

I tried to lookup this information in Canadian BMW configurator but no information is available.

Can anybody, who has already received the 2024 x5 in Canada, confirm if the above feature are included?

Welcome to the forum. We have not seen anything that they have been removed, check with your dealer to verify.

Every now and then — and I’m talking maybe 2x per month — I use the pause geature for media since I often can’t remember how to quickly do that if I’m not in CarPlay.

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately the dealers couldn’t find it as well in the feature/option sheet. Could this be that those features are not available/activated in Canada? That will be very unfortunate

I have received my X5 50e
No, it does not come with Gesture Control or 5g eSim
Also, the inside camera to take a picture of any thief.
Another disappointment is the $300 for the integrated garage opener. For goodness sake, that is NOTHING.

Seriously, I don't know why BMW Canada does that. The car is not cheaper than in the USA, but it is stripped down.

If I had the option I would have bought the 5g e-sim. But unfortunately, that option doesn't even exists in Canadian configurator

I love gesture control. I use it every day to flip between two radio news stations. I use it so often over so many years it has become subconscious. Don't even think about it - want to change stations just flip my thumb. Great feature.

It sucks but it's just market differences. USA doesn't get the heated and cooled cupholders. You can option acoustic glass in UK, which I would have loved.

just got mine last Mar 21, 2024 and the product advisor told me that gesture control is not offered.

Just picked up our new 2024 X6 in Canada, the product genius said gesture control is not available in our market.
