bimmer.work is what I’ve used and it seems to work pretty well.

bimmer.work won't pull up my M2C but will pull up my old 335i and 340i. Weird.

Also https://vinanalytics.com/

I used bimmer.work and a couple of others when I shopped for my f31, and also years ago when I was helping my wife look for an e83 amd my e46/3.

As you have found, listings are often wrong on details on sites like auto trader, cars dot come and even dealer websites.

MY go to Decoder is BIMMERTOOL.
Requires a signup, but was the only one I came across that listet the original dealer that sold the car.
Lovely. I didn't need to sign up. Nice as vehicle options list contains codes.

Hi, does anyone know where you can check the car history?
mycarfax.com - which is free - will allow you to add a number of cars to your "garage" to track. It will show any *reported* service history. Can be very handy, especially if a car has always been serviced at a shop or dealership that reports. Super handy if you're just trying to get a quick snapshot of where a car may have been or how frequently it's been serviced. You just can't rely on everything being there - but what IS there should be legit.

Anything that still works? Just tried mdecoder and bimmertool and they were both dead for me.

I think it only works for cars more than a couple years old. I always get a response that I exceeded my daily limit. Even after a year has gone by since I last tried it.

Hi all,

Hopefully will be an F30 owner really soon. I've seen one I like but want to find the options it came with, I don't have the VIN , am I able to find out this info from the reg number?

You need the VIN

I'm not sure if you guys are looking into the details over your results after the VIN decoder but from what I've found, bimmer.work and others might work but aren't accurate. I looked up several different BMW's with DCT on Carvana with pictures, and the VIN decoders were pretty good on matching the colors but the transmissions noted from the decoder came out manual even though they were all DCT.
