I am not really into guns (or those hideous couches, hehe)

but that room is pretty awesome.
No kidding about the couches... looks like they came out of a college residence hall from the 1980's.

I'll have everything else in the room though.
Don't forget the heinous floor tile. :barf:

Looks more like the cave of redundancy and bad taste. :bellyroll:
Always with the flooring. :)

Agreed!!

As an aside, I was asking one of the employees at my local store about shotguns. Can't beat one for home defense. He commented that more and more people are moving to ARs because of the increased amount of ammo and its accuracy. I'm going to have to check this out. I fired one a few years ago and it was unbelievable..
Advice before they lock this tread:

As shotguns go......A: great for home defense. B: they become addictive and you can not just own 1.;)
If you have the mean$$$$ the first shotgun that is a must is the Benelli M4<that's the bees knees>:bow::bow:
and the other 2 must haves <pumps>Remington 870 police magnum w/t extension tube
Mossburg 590A1 9 cap.
Take them to the range and smash things:bellyroll

@Mr.Tonka what do you think about the pocket 9's, sig sauer, kimber. Viable self-defense weapons?

Tried the Sig P226 MK5. Done! Bought it on site....just sick. Sig makes a great pistol and this thing made me "need" to own it. I could have bought 2 for the price of this....picking it up on Tues....awesome firearm (for you Larrysing)!!!
I hear you on the P226 MK25. Out of all the pistols i own, the Sig is my favorite.
Its so accurate, heck! it scares me what i can hit with this pistol. 20 yards 2 inch groups with Nato 9mm 124g:bulge::bulge::drink:
People at the range, give me that strange looks............"who's this guy":bellyroll

Just pulled this off the Man Cave wall and running through my hands while sat on my old purple college couch. Wonderfully weighted.. CZ-75 SP-01 Tactical.. Now that's a 9mm. Well I guess we all have our favorites. Think I'll put it back on display near the flame thrower bunker door side..
Top rated 9mil, excellent choice.

I think something is better than nothing. But I prescribe to the philosophy weighing proficiency the most, then mag capacity, then ability to conceal, then comfort.

I used to carry a shield 9mm but after some active shooting classes I found that I shoot the G19 far better than the shield. I would rank the shield as an 8 for comfort and the G19 as a 7. G19 is twice the capacity, so that's what I carry it.

If I had to wear a suit all the time I would go with the Sig p239.

But to answer your question, yes they are viable weapons. Any weapon is viable if you're proficient with it. That's the key. If the shield was too comfortable to give up, I'd train with it until I was as accurate with it as the G19.

Personally, I find a .45 easier to get back on target than a 9mm in a polymer frame pistol.

If you were shooting 9mm in your typical heavier 1911 frame, then my answer would likely change. I just find Glock's snappy, whereas I find the 1911 to be more of a push than a snap.

But that's just personal preference, some interesting stats above.
I do really well with my .45s. FNX45 tactical and 1911s. I also was dead accurate and could shoot the G23 (.40) quickly.

I switched the G23 for the G19 and I just shoot it better in terms of popping off 3-4 controlled rounds under simulated duress.

I havent bought anything in a LONG time but mine are:

Kimber Pro Carry II
Ruger 22/45 Lite
Ruger 10/22
Glock 19
Glock 26
Springfield XP40 - first pistol..bought it like the day after I was 21
Noveske 10.5" SBR
Some old DPMS AR - that I bought as my first semi-auto rifle
Thompson Machine ISIS-2 suppressor
MEGA Maten .308 build in very slow progress

Currently in the market for a .762 rifle can, a good semi auto and a premium over under shotty.

I really dont shoot much anymore despite having a range across the street from my office. But I occasionally shoot some .22lr speed steel at a local farm maybe once or twice a month in the fall/winter.

I started getting into reloading but have put that on the back burner as well since my reloading bench wasnt that easy on the eyes and raised so many questions when company came over. So all that shit is in my storage closet now. :(
