Hey @r33_RGSport, I just joined Bimmerpost and can’t send DMs yet, so I sent you an email instead with details about my 2026 X5 PHEV and spacer/wheel setup questions. When you get a chance, could you take a look? Thanks!

Curious why it matters if lowered? I imagine the fronts rubbing with too much space? What's the biggest spacer you can go when lowered (like MSS or H&R)?

When you are lowered, you’ll be gaining negative camber.
So top of the tire will be more tucked in.

Biggest spacer will depends on your wheels and tires sizes, whether you are on stock 20” square, staggered, 21”, or 22”.

I added 12mm spacers with 40mm extended lugs. Probably a dumb Q, but if I swap the spacers to 15mm, will I need to order 43mm lugs? Not sure how many turns/threads this leads to, if within the recommended range or not. Thanks!

Yes, you’ll need 43mm for 15mm.

Ugh, let me try my best to explain it in words. I know how to do it, just not explaining it. :)

I would first try PB Blaster or WD-40, spray it in between the spacer and hub from all kind of opening. Let it sit about 30 minutes, then use 2 lug bolts, insert it into the spacer's hole that doesn't through to the hub thread, then use a pry bar and use those to lug bolts as a leverage to spin the spacer. May need an extra hand to hold those 2 lug bolts in place.
Work on it back and forth, it should break loose.
If it doesn't, then you will need to use punch and hammer to tap force it to break loose from the hub. Will damage the spacer most likely.

if the lugs are too loose to hold in place for leverage, would a pry bar and rubber mallet still damage the spacer?

would you recommend using a normal hammer or rubber mallet?

is Liquid Wrench better than PB Blaster?

Thanks.

I never use liquid wrench, should be the same thing.
Rubber mallet is good too. hit on the spacer to let the liquid penetrate through the middle.

Hello peeps,
Any chips on the car paint from the 20mm spacers on the back of 20” 740M wheels?
I’m thinking about getting 12mm front and 15 or 20mm back (none lowered)
Thanks in advance!

You are correct, see below images with OEM wheels and the same spacers

Hey Ben! Fairly new here, but I can receive DMs.

I recently picked up a 2026 X5 xDrive50e and just picked up a set of 741Ms with staggered Pirelli summer tires.

I’m looking for your recommendation on spacer sizing for this setup. One thing to note is that with the 2026 models I can’t run a lowering module due to Secure Coding 2.0. I’ll mostly be driving in Sport mode, but there will be times when the car is at stock ride height.

Given that mix, I’m a bit stuck on what spacer thickness makes the most sense while keeping everything looking clean.

Question for ones with stock suspension and 740M

I am seeing r33_RGSport's user avatarr33_RGSport suggesting 12/25 as well as 15/25 on STOCK SUSPENSION. Could you guys please chime in with photos of each set up!

Thank you very much !
