Hello to all members! We want to officially kick-off this new section for all things related to simulator racing. I know a lot of you are racing online and have some really nice setups!

Well here is my current rather crappy setup. Depending on my mood I either run it with the TV on the table of my projector.

What setup is that?

Yeah, about a month ago I started thinking I need a set up, but it has to be realistic.
My problem is I want to feel the g load in my body.

It's not a problem, you just need money. You can get a 3 axis chair setup for about 2.5k that'll do .5g to .7g depending on direction. A 6 axis setup that claims 1g for about 2k more. Toss in a 3d headset for 800-1k and the computer to run it for another 1 to 1.5k. You can even add on shaker and blower kits for more feel.

So for around 5k you can get a decent 3 axis setup in full 3d.

So for around 5k you can get a decent 3 axis setup in full VR. Obviously you'll never feel real g load on the body but these setups are seriously :party0030:

I have tried some serious setups over the years and the only ones where I felt the motion made a meaningful difference was on rigs well over 10k. Force feedback and pedal quality are always the least common denominator, invest in those two before anything else. After comes seating position and comfort, then AV fidelity, then 3D elements like motion. There is nothing available on the consumer market that can transmit sustained Gs, all the motion rigs I have tried (some over $40k) give you a moment of sensation but none ever come close to what it's really like to get into the brakes at the end of a straight. VR is far more effective for immersion but I myself prefer static monitor setups for comfort.

I'll update my post with setup pics later. Fanatec CSW 2.0 - Porsche 918 RSR wheel - Fanatec CSL Pedals - 34" ultrawide on gas strut - ErgoChair 2 - Sennheiser 598

Currently just doing off-line racing with GTSport, ProjectCars2, Assetto Corsa, and my favorite F1 2019.
My setup is a Sony PS4, Thrustmaster T300RS, 42" monitor and a Playseat seat/stand combo.
Works for me:lol:

I finally caved in just as work from home started (mid march). Playing F1 2019 and GT on PS4 with my buddies everynight since.

My setup :
TrakRacer TR6 Mach2
Fanatec CSL Elite
Fanatec BMW GT2
Fanatec F1 Esports
Fanatec LC pedals
Astro A50 headset
55 samsung curved monitor

Kids Setup (right around the corner from mine)

They play F1 2014 and GT5. My 5 year old is surprisingly good.

Given the "stay home" situation that most of us are facing, I'd really love to have one of these simulator setups for my E90:

Just unboxing was impressive, as you can see I kept them all!

+1 for Fanatec quality. Large price delta vs TM and LG though.

I only have Forza 7 and Horizon 4 on the xbox one. Assetto corsa on the PC that I wasn't really good at with a couple other titles I can't recall. Is there a decent setup for around $500 for the wheel and pedals? Really don't want it to be a permanent setup sitting in my theater so I'd like to put it away when I'm not using it. Already have a capable PC, 150" screen/4K 60hz projector and a valve index.

I like the BMW wheel/tire as a coffee table ! I am using the Next Level GTtrack frame and triple stand...very sturdy and versatile for the price. I also went for the inverted V3 pedals to mimic the Spec Miatas and e30 that I race.

The Fanatec CSL Elite bundle is $570. A bit over your $500 threshold, but I was in the same general position and after looking at multiple reviews and getting a lot of information from others decided it was worth the extra spend. It says PS4 but is compatible with PC out of the box and XBox with a different steering wheel.

It's supposed to be here Monday, so I should know for sure pretty soon!

Excuse the lack of cable management. This is a multiple solution setup. I use the three monitors for work and FPS games, for SIM Racing I just pull this up to the desk. Works well. Also, use a RIFT S. love VR with Iracing, not so much with Assetto Corsa Competizione
