thebmw wroteI became semi-famous in my youth within a certain group. Definitely a lot of pressure and strangers coming up to you, some of it appreciated, but there were moments that made me very uncomfortable. I got a taste of being objectified and losing my privacy, being scrutinized by my every decision. It was exciting at first, but it got old quick. That was 20 years ago and I enjoy being invisible.Agree. I'm well-known in my profession. So not "famous" to the laymen, but easily Google-able and a person of interest to those that know me or want to know me. That super small, limited celebrity can get annoying as I am a target of scammers ALL the time. People also want to get in my business often and I prefer to stay private.
I have a few famous people in my family, one is embedded in our culture and they are legends in what they do. They also get a lot of press all over the world and not all of it is kind. Constantly judged, always in the spotlight, it started to affect their behavior to the point where they were just doing what was expected of them because they were sick of fighting it. Figured, they might as well since they are taking responsibility for it anyway. Fame is a curse that disguises it self as glamour.

LOL
Even though I try not to get into politics, I've been around some pretty high profile people in our government. Not going to say much more than that. The only one I can bring up safely is I was about 50ft away from POTUS 43 at one of the buildings I worked. Kind of surprised I was even that close because security was a pain in the ass all day trying to move around the building.
Sassicaia wroteMy best friend slept with Kenny Chesney. Not sure if that counts🤷🏼*♀️Better thread would be "have you slept with anyone famous, and if so who?"
At the end of the day they were just like the rest of us, trying to figure out life and winging it as best they could. Different worries, different spending habits, still just people.
Doesn't mean I don't still get a bit starstruck at times but it goes away after a beer.

He was a life guard with me. Put his trunks on one leg at a time.

gary_william wroteThe "Off-Topic Discussion Board" cross populates within all of the Bimmerpost forums. So everyone sees the same thing regardless of the forum you used to post your reply. Not to be a dick, but I highly doubt any famous people hang out in a 1 series forum.
That said, the 1M is an enthusiast car and owned by enthusiasts. A lot of "famous" people are still just people and some of them are enthusiasts. I would be surprised if they are not on the forums (including the 1 forum if they have a 1M). But yes, most likely they are in the M forums or the 5, 6, 7, 8, X5, X6, X7 forums.
The internet is the great equalizer. We are all equal here. So the guy in his underwear in his parent's basement gets the same voice as the famous guy who wears $100 underwear and bought his parents a mansion. That's why I started this thread. Chances are, there are many people on these forums who are very recognizable public figures.
