output wise I'd say its the same or very close so I couldn't tell the difference, it's been 2.5 years since I changed so the memory faded a bit.

at the beginning I was able to delete active shutters and used zip ties to trick the system (so I very rarely would get a CEL) and that usually would happen due to one of the zip ties brake, in that case I would just replace that zip tie.
It did work for awhile, I think I had a period for about 4 months where I saw no errors at all.
About six months ago or so I had a CEL where I wasn't able clear the error anymore, I tried everything I tried before with no result, so I ended up putting shutters back, not all of them but just side ones.
I still do get CEL from time to time but for most of the time its fine.
I might play around with that a bit more but this is where I am at the moment.
Looks better without them, but not sure I want the hassle of zip ties and CELs right now.

as for second point, I agree, I probably wouldn’t bother
myself, I did this when I had my front bumper off so I tried as it was much more accessible
