in my case the rear lights tinted from factory (shadow line) but I ended up replacing the front headlights with shadow line headlights, yes its much more expensive but I don't have to worry about passing annual state inspection

I wasn't referring to troopers or police (its the same here in Mass) even thought I got the ticket for no front plate ones and got stopped but let go for the windows tint (I had it legal). I'm referring to annual state inspection, here unless you know someone they won't pass the car until tint is removed!

took about 20 mins for prep, install, cleanup. i have a heat gun too, which helps tuck the edges and adhere to the car better.

While I would prefer to have the tint painted on (similar to my AMG), no one close to me will do it and I’m therefore stuck with a vinyl tint. Given that the X5 has some sculpting to them, my tint guy notes that he would only be able to do it using ordered pre-cut vinyl and is having a hard time finding something that would work to my satisfaction.
I don’t want a dark tint - only looking for a medium tint to knock down the red (X5 is sapphire black). Any recommendations on brands, effectiveness, and longevity? Looking for good quality and something reputable.
