its a verification. Otherwise you could just say your mileage is x, and it could be y. This way the dealer and BMW have verification from the buyer.
NikkiBloom wroteYes, I just purchased one via a dealer in RI and this was a requirement.guys, is it normal for them to ask for you to take a photo of your drivers license next to the mileage for verification before purchasing a warranty? I recently got a quote back and they say this would be the next step before payment. Just wanna make sure it's standard they want my photo ID via email/text.
Cityman wroteThat may be one that will give you a good chance to come out ahead depending on the wheels you get and the condition of the roads you drive on. If you are getting 22"'s and have a lot of potholes it could be something to consider. What are your thoughts on the BMW wheel/tire insurance plans? Worth it?

x5forme wroteNever would be the most appropriate time but some folks like the feeling that if a covered item breaks it won't cost them anything. When is the most appropriate time to buy these extended warranties?, also any suggestions for getting best price for X5 40i?
You can buy it at any time prior to the new vehicle warranty expiring, I would say wait until 6 months or so before that.
While I would not get one I shopped around a few years ago for pricing and these three were the lowest and they continue to offer great pricing.

vipfinance@bmwofcamarillo.com is our gal who takes care of the forum members on the BMW plans. She is all by herself still at the store so she gets crazy backed up, if after 24hours you dont get a response just PM me and I can ping her and follow up ok
lapagano wroteWelcome to the forum. I would say most people, at least members, do it that way rather than going to their dealer.Has anyone purchased a BMW extended warranty online after owning their car for a few years? Do you have some dealers who have given you the best prices you can share?

lapagano wrotewe have been discounting them heavily for forum members for years. just email vipfinance@bmwofcamarillo.com let them know your current miles and vin. what plan you are looking for as well. FYI: Rates will change based on timeline/miles for your specific vehicle/situation. The closer you get to factory warranty term end the higher price can be.
GOLFFRR wroteDoes this mean that the extended warranties always go up and down in value depending on specials being ran, and so if you are buying a new car and do want an extended warranty then you should hold off buying one until you GOLFFRR can get the best pricing?Keep in mind, BMW is constantly changing pricing on plans, its always been this way unfortunately, its dependent on a variety of things. We always maintain the same % over cost no matter the increase in the cost. Just easier that way for us.

Or does this mean the price is always going up and it's best to get it sooner rather than later?

Seriously though just like anything else the prices can be raised as the years go by. That doesn't mean it would be less expensive to buy it earlier though depending on cost of money, inflation etc. There is usually a price break for buying it prior to 20k miles versus after, at least there was.

BmwJoel wroteThe price of the plans from bmw will increase as timeline and miles go on closer to the factory end. The longer you wait the more it will cost. Bmw doesn’t offer specials. Some dealers will offer specials maybe on third party plans? Not sure, we keep the same discounted rate for forum members. The only thing that changes is the base cost which is specific to your vin and situation.Does this mean that the extended warranties always go up and down in value depending on specials being ran, and so if you are buying a new car and do want an extended warranty then you should hold off buying one until you GOLFFRR can get the best pricing?

The only real benefit to buying at signing is you can roll it into your monthly payment. However most of the time you will be paying full price on the plan as most dealers don’t discount them like us.
Lastly you have to buy it before the factory runs out

CADK wroteAre you still able to give prices , im looking at extending mine. Not exactly true. The price increases significantly when the odometer crosses 20k.
And I'll agree that there is a lot less value in extending coverage at BMW's suggested retail prices, but I'm able to offer BMW extended coverages at very near dealer cost. They make a whole lot more sense at those prices.
