Bimmer-tech seems to be about the only player in this market right now.Ordered X5 without parking assistant option, so no front camera. Is there any way to retrofit it (not interested in the 360 degree view)?
I'm going to check out the Bimmer-Tech Front View Camera Retrofit for my 2022 X5 xdrive40i M-Sport (minus the parking assist package) and hope for the best. I'll come back when I can give some actual feedback.
I had this issue too, tech said it is not possible because the control unit is different for the 360 view and the standard rear view cam.
Actually it is possible but you would need a new unit and all the cameras, two new mirrors and a mile of wiring. Cost would be extreme. Aftermarket could be a good alternative. We got used to live without those now..
magnum5az wrotethe front only kits are only for Id6 and earlier, for Id7 onwards are only full 360. I haven't figured out how to wire aftermarket ones through the engine. I put dome convex mirrors on my windshield where it doesn't obstruct vision on the driver side. also tried the autovox solar front camera, pretty minimal lag for $80Reviving this old post. So, like other have mentioned I am in the same boat. Just purchased a 2023 that does not have the parking assist package so my car only has rear camera and parking sensors. Found a company in Malaysia that shows all the parts needed to get this done and they are claiming its a 6hr job. Already messaged them to find out if they offer it as a kit that they will sell within instructions or if they are they will only sell if they install. I am in California so going to keep searching. I tried the Bimmer-tech route and when entering my VIN I didn’t see a kit that would work though?
