We've just today release the BIMMERPOST App 5.x version on iPhone/iPad. This release comes a few months after the similar app (version 5.x) on Android.

BIMMERPOST App for iPhone/iPad and Android are now on the same version and on parallel track. So this is a new home for any comments, complaints, questions about the app on either platform.

There are still a few bugs to be seen on the app which we will work through in the coming months, but of course if you see some this is the place to let us know.

The more detail about the bug the better to help us address it!

Will do. Thanks again.

Biggest issue I have with the update is the wildly inconsistent font type and size. I get the card aesthetic - everyone is using it but the font use makes everything feel cluttered and overall app not feel consistent.

Have any examples of what you mean?

Great update! The new layout is working much better on my iPhone 14 Pro.

One minor niggle (I noticed when viewing this thread) is user tags aren’t aligned quite right with the rest of the post text.

Also, is there a way to disable the ‘are you sure’ confirmation when submitting a post?

Is it possible to change the notification sound within the App? I keep thinking I have a voicemail when it's really a notification from bimmerpost..

I discovered how to alter the font size but it doesn't affect some of the text and menus within the App.

The font size generally should be similar across tha app, but we haven’t been able to test on every device so if you see a specific place where it stands out to you please let me know and we can investigate it more

Notification sounds is for sure on the todo list. Hopefully will get addressed within the next few months. (Todo list is about 75 items deep right now 😂)

Good eye. Will look into this more, I don’t want to throw off the alignment of the next line under it so I’ll see if it possible to move it down while maintaining the space under the next line 👍

I'm running iOS 15.7 on an iPhone 8.. Under the "more" menu the font remains smaller and unaffected by the change the font in Ap slider setting.

The font under "myforums" list as well as the "forums" list also remain small and unaffected by the change the font size in Ap slider.

Under user profile, if I click "show all threads" or "show all posts", when clicking in the populated list, the desired thread or post opens behind the other open navigation page(s) instead of on-top so it acts like a populated list of dead links. Wherein reality the link opened behind the other open menu pages.

The user profile font is tiny on my phone and is unaffected by changing the dynamic font size with the phone iOS.

For me, adjusting the main font size setting seemed to only affect the topic list text size, but not the text of actual posts.

However, when I tried using the font slider located up under the 3 dots menu while viewing a thread this changed font size for both.

If I check the main font size setting it is still set to the default level. :confused2

This may be a bug as I believe there should only be a single font setting in the app.

Good observation. The iPhone has a dynamic font size adjustment which works with some Aps. Then the new Ap itself has a font size slider adjuster which only affects some parts of the Ap. Then, as you discovered, the 3 dot handle bar also has a text size adjuster. So which of the 3 methods is primordial? At the moment I probably need to use a combination of all 3 because my iPhone 8 has the smaller screen size = 1334-by-750-pixels - of years gone by.

Ok yes there are actually two font settings, on for in reading threads and another for viewing forum lists. We separated the two becusee when reading threads many people seem to be picky about the font size (our experience when working on the android version of the thread.
I think we will settle in on. General system font size and then a specific thread font size setting.

You can access both from the settings menu or each individually directly when you are either viewing a forum or reading a thread by hitting the dots

Got it.

IMHO, if you want to have separate font size options in the app, I would make them all available in the main settings area, with different labels.

It’s not auto filling my username and password that’s saved in my Chrome password manager when I try to log in.

Also it says I have 2 notifications, but then nothing when I click on it.

Man, this is a great update. I’d been splitting my time between the desktop and iPhone app, since I started using BP. This app pretty much allows me to not have to even get on the laptop.

Notifications seem a little strange to me. It doesn’t auto delete after they’re read. I almost like it more, because sometimes I want to go back and reference a post and if I’ve already read it, it used to be gone and I don’t remember what thread it was in. But I’d expect that clicking on the notifications tab at the bottom, would automatically take you to notifications. It doesn’t always do this. Sometimes if I’m reading a post that was in my notifications, I have to click the back arrow to go back to the notifications screen, versus just clicking on notifications and it taking me back, automatically.

The old app used to allow you to go back and quote a post that someone else posted while you were posting. Example. While I’m replying, someone else replies to the post one post above me. I used to go back and edit, and quote their post to answer that question, since my post was after theirs. I couldn’t find functionality where I could click quote on someone’s post, then write a new post, cut that quote field, delete the post and edit my post, adding the cut quote field into my edited post. I know it sounds confusing.

Your right somehow it got removed from the settings screen! Weird. It’ll be back on the next update 👍

Is there an option Im missing to turn this off? I think if I have to reach all the way to the top, right corner to submit the post, I already know I want to post it.

Pretty sure, anyway.
On a side note, this is an issue.
