The error code only appears when I turn off my daytime running light. If it is ok the error code is not there. Anyway the other issue js the also the reflection of the taillight. Pls see my other post.

So I bought another set from AKD. Works like a charm. But without bmw logo.

When I found a batch from AKD with bmw logo, I bought again. Just arrive last night. So I have total bought 3 set of these lights😂

omg you're crazy...

What do you mean exactly by tuning off the rear daytime lights?
I have my lights always on AUTO position. Is that what you mean?

By me it doesn't prevent the car to throw errors on right brake light and seller do nothing, just telling stupid things like i need to code the lights :mad0260::mad0260::mad0260:

My car has the rear drl light open checked on or off. I coded in the front drl light checked on or off also. So that when I am in carpark and I turn off my main beam, if O checked both off, my drl will not be light up. Without the coding, the drl remains.

So after fixing the light, I realised whenever I off the drl and forgot to turn it check it back on and drive off with auto headlight, the error code will appear whenever it next enter a dark place and the auto light turn on the main beam. But If I keep the drl light checked on all the time, the error does come out. The error is rear light failure.

tried to get help from seller on aliexpress did not succeed.
THe guy continuously told me it was my car responsible, that maybe my lights were not the same as the other x5, or even that my car was damaged or i needed to code the aftermarket lights...
Finally aliexpress greanted me 60€ refund which is just ridiculous.
So guys please consider there is NO assistance and NO warranty on aliexpress.

Unfortunately, I also learned the hard way I lost C$2000 and I purchased mine from AKD. Nothing but problems. My issue was both tail lights were letting in water. Had to go back to original scared to buy another set until they get this right

Hopefully You have no issues. I started getting condensation a couple months after I installed them and then it only got worse. I even tried sealing them and had no luck Or support

I wanted to make a purchase for a while but people kept having issues with the newer batches that were coming out of Alibaba so I held off until I saw there was a seller on Amazon and after several questions I decided to pull the trigger as it’s really easy to return things on Amazon. These were way pricier than the ones currently on Alibaba $700+ vs $450 but the peace of mind of being able to easily return them and get a refund was worth it to me.

I had them installed and the shop only works on BMW’s and said it was a very easy straight forward install, true plug and play. It has been over 6 months and I have gotten tons of car washes and driven through rain storms and am happy to say that I have not seen any condensation. The light patterns seems pretty spot on with oem, no amber lights on these. Overall I am very happy and satisfied with the purchase as I know how hit or miss these aftermarket rear taillights have been. If anyone is interested here is the link where I made the purchase https://a.co/d/3wHcNbY

Enjoy them you should be OK. I love the way they look, but I’m just so scared to make a second purchase.

I get it man. I'll update you/this thread a few months from now. It was the #1 'mod' i wanted to do when I got my M50i a year ago - and I've done a lot of mods/upgrades. I'll be so disappointed if they hold moisture!

After reading of everyones troubles, I ordered the AoKeDing version off Amazon due to their support and free returns.

As an extra precaution to avoid any potential moisture issues, I wrapped them in painters tape and applied a few coats of Flex Seal on the back of each piece prior to installation.

So far, 3 months later everything is great - install and fit is near perfection, no issues with condensation or moisture at all, and no errors or codes in idrive or bimmerlink.

One thing to note is the US X5 versions wont flash the thin amber colored light as shown on the Amazon description. The seller sent me the wiring diagram for the lights in hopes I could bypass the US DOT standard, however not all the wires required were present at the connection points. — So flashing red for turn signals is the best it can be for now.

Ill be sure to update if any issues pop up.

Quick shot of my install last night. Shout out to ipayincash for providing the seller. Works as advertised and will update as time goes on.

Also replaced my 93mm exhaust tips for 105mm. That will be in another post.

I've had mine installed for about 45 days now and no issues/moisture. I ended up getting a second set because the first was not delivered, despite FedEx saying it was, then they magically showed up 2 weeks later and I of course ordered another set. If anyone reading this is interested in purchasing my brand new set, DM me. Link to exact set I bought: https://a.co/d/clZUjOd
