Just a quick update.

I had an inspection done at an indie shop several months back, at around 45k miles (so 15k miles later) and it looks like the new seal is still holding. To me it seemed a little wet and the mechanic said he kinda thought so too at first, but he thinks it's all right.

At first I also thought it might have been the turbo bearing. Thank goodness it was not!

Question now that you have 15K miles on the new gasket. As part of replacing the old gasket, was the area that got oily/dirty cleaned up to look like new? If so, how does it look now? Got pix? Thanks.

I believe that area was cleaned up so they can "check" if it was leaking. Attached is the current photo, kinda hard to get a good picture with a flashlight...

So how does that area look now after they replaced the turbo and hopefully cleaned that area. How many miles are on it now?
