Another victim here. 2020 X5 M50i and 55k miles. Took it in for Transfer case shuddering and front winning noise (front differential)

My extended warranty does not want to cover the differential issue since the dealership reported I had a leaking motor oil gasket. Which is a different issue, I believe they’re trying to find a reason not to replace the differential, which is coming out to $11k. Since I do my own oil changes (DIY), they need evidence that I’ve replaced the oil/filter. Hence receipts…

I am willing to pay the $800 fluid replacement on the transfer case, but I WILL NOT pay for the differential. It is crazy that a part like this will fail at ~55k miles.

Any recommendations on how I should go about this. My extended warranty is called “First Guard”. Btw this part is covered by my extended warranty under the covered parts list, but I believe they’re trying to get away from covering it.

I attached an image from what they’re quoting me at the Austin, Tx BMW dealership.
You may be screwed. If you can’t get your warranty company to cover it, it may be best to get to repaired and quickly unload it before one of the other costly, low mileage failures occur. That being the oil pump, transfer case etc….

Selling it in as is condition would probably reduce the price by more than the $11k.
BMWNA more than likely will blow you off. They well know the vehicle has many safety and reliability defects but they are hoping to sweep it under the rug.

I’d also report it to NHTSA like many other unfortunate owners have done in the hope they will force a recall. If that happens, you would get your money back.
