X5M & X5 Upper Control Arm Removal & Install Video: (Minute 19:12 shows the control arm process. I lowered mine about 1.3 inches, so I deducted that from the stock control arm measurement when tightening. The nut facing the firewall is retained and you just take the bolt out from the wheel well with ease. The nut facing the front is easier to get to by taking the airboxes out on both sides):

Susoa wroteJust finished the same upgrade myself a week ago. 2022 X5MC. Dinan springs and bump stops.Dinan Springs Install review:
So I finally pulled the trigger and installed some lowering springs on my F95 X5MC. The reason is funny. I didn’t think the car looked aggressive enough and I seriously considered trading it in for the new M5. I had the F10 M5 and it was my favorite car and I kept it for 7 years which is by far the longest of all. But, once I found out my trade in value for the X5MC and the depreciation hit I decided to go for the springs.
Review: this is what the car needs. The factory set up provides exceptional handling but the ride height limits your confidence during aggressive cornering, which is my favorite! With the dinan springs installed i think this car is bad ass. I want to drive it! It handles like a sedan and it has the power and cargo capacity to boot.
The dinan springs are very slightly stiffer but not really noticeable. The body roll or lack there off is awesome. The lower ride height inspires confidence which driving. Aesthetically, it looks perfect. I’m not sure why BMW left the wheel gap in the front but it detracts from what this car is supposed to be - a street beast! Now it looks perfect. It’s a shame that I had to drop $2500 to make the car look bad ass but I saved $25K on a trade in hit for an M5 so I guess that works! Pics below w 10 MM spacers all around on Dinan Springs. Last pic is stock.
I could not agree more! The change in ride stiffness is small, the change in roll stiffness and turn-in is a big improvement. Highly recommended.

GT500R wroteThat would be KW V4.My question is I see a lot of “bump” or “thump” with springs being purchased. What coilovers or spring set is gaurenteed to not have any bump, thump or any type of nois?

GT500R wroteYeah, the only complete kit is that insane KW one. $$$Just springs?

As
I have installed many MSS, few KW HAS, and some H&R, no noises on all of them besides those rear sway bar link noise on early production of F95/F96.
GT500R wroteI currently have the H&R adjustable with no issues. I’ve also had the MSS and no issues with those as well. GT500R wroteIf you're going coils, it's for the control of the compression and rebound the way you want it for better handlinf characteristics.$7k+ to lower a car with no clunks seems crazy
Is a shame the coils options for the F9x are the V4s though I guess KW's rationale is if you're spending that much on the vehicle, what's another 7k.
Hard to say i guess if there would be a market for the V3's at the $3,500 price point. Most care for the drop that springs along can achieve.
For no reason I did the same when I installed my MSS but what's the point of the difference?
kra537 wroteIt's called rake. It's for a better ride, stop faster, handle better, and offers more traction. Aero has a part as well.Went through many threads and yours is also 10mm and 15mm rear above height

stL325 wroteIt's the only way since the X5MC's aren't really adjustable in the front when lowering. Since the X5's already sit lower, their UCA's are the perfect choice to get the correct alignment on the lowered X5MC.Hey guys I just wanted some clarification. Our f95’s already come with upper control arms but if we get lowering springs we have to change it to non-F95 control arms to get proper alignment ? I spent a lot of time on this forum and I’m confused !
I just upgraded to a ‘25 X5MC from a ‘22 x5 m50i that had the MSS springs
stL325 wroteNoThanksS68 X5MC. Are there any trade-offs by going to the g05 control arms? Loss in handling/performance/stress placed on other parts of the suspension?
