I would hold on this car unless you need the money today. Someone will see it and realise all that preventative work is worth a god-damn fortune and will get you closer to $40K.

Well said! Speaking of M2, I’m toying with the idea of adding a modern M car to the garage. Drove the G80 M3 and while nice, just feels too big and kinda numb. Very similar feeling to the F90 M5 I drove a couple of years ago.
The M2 is a great car - and can be engaging, especially with the carbon buckets and a manual - but it’s a much more digital experience.

I did a little snooping and that E92 of yours is about perfect!

Thank you. The E92 is a keeper for sure and with a 6/2013 build date it’s one of the last built. It really makes a great stable mate to the E36 M3.

But, I’m getting the itch to have a go at the ownership expereince of a new G series M car. While the looks of the G80 M3 have grown on me, I can’t see myself owning one. Good feedback on the M2… tempting for sure.

Sounds like you’ve got room for a convertible. 😉

Man, I need more garage space. That’s a fine M roadster!

Love the Clown Shoe, but 30k in resto. is nuts.

It ain't that cool, especially not in silver.

Ending on a Wednesday isn't preferred.

Your accident history is pretty darn invasive with even the trunk lid replaced.

Yours is a relatively early model ('09) with later ones being more desirable.

Those red seats have to be perfect, and yours weren't.

There appears to be a large bubble in the upper dash above the glovebox that you are not clearly showing in any photo. Could be my imagination.

You added all the M-sport features like front and rear bumpers and headliner but buyers know it didn't come with it. Nothing wrong with that but it will effect the value.

These days, if you're looking to get more for a BMW than what it just brought on BaT, you're fighting an uphill battle.
Unfortunately, BaT gives you almost no say in when the auctions end and begin.

The accident, I’ll give you. But I was completely open about it… including showing photos of the damage.

Not to be argumentative but I’ve not once heard anyone say the early 135s are less desirable…and I’ve been involved in the 1 series community since before it was even launched back in early 2008. Mines was also a 2008, not a 2009.

The photos were taken by an BaT photographer. Aside from excluding a few photos I had very little input on the photos. I was immediately responding to all questions, including follow up photos when asked. If anyone bidding didn’t feel like something was properly documented i immediately responded.

The only M sport feature I added was the headliner. The front and rear bumpers were the stock bumpers. The front bumper was on the car when I bought it. So, I’m not sure what you mean there. The stock headliner and all of the grey interior trim was included with the sale.

The interior wasn’t in “concours” condition but (aside from the headliner) was completely original. I was also the original owner and had ALL the records. It was always maintained well above what BMW recommended. I even had a break in service done. It had also never been modified unlike most of the N54 135s.

That was all in addition to the large amount of money and tons of time I put into prepping it for sale.

It went to a great home and the new owner is loving it so I’m totally fine with how things went.

If you are not in a hurry, other than the sites above, why not list it in The Roundel? Online is OK but I would do a listing in the magazine. I'm not in the market for anything, but I love flipping through the print classifieds.

75K members and probably a lot that don't frequent BaT.

I do have it listed on BMWCCA classifieds but can’t figure out how to pay for the print version, for the life of me. I’m in no rush and believe it’s priced fairly, so I’ll dig deeper to see how to make this happen.

I’m with you though. I love flipping through that section of Roundel!

Such a nice M Roadster and tough decision to make. If you're hell bent on the ugly M2 and it's big power S58 allure then sell it.
Personally I'd keep that as my forever car. I've owned a few F80s and as a current E85 Z4MR owner , the top S54 experience is sublime. No amount of turbo boost could replicate the steering feedback, top down induction noise and sillyness the little Roadster provides.
GLWS 👍

Seeing as I have already purchased the ‘ugly’ M2, I’m committed. 😂

Spot on assessment of the M Roadie though. The two cars are in different leagues as it relates to sillyness. It’s not cliche to say they don’t make cars like that anymore.

You'll likely look back on the M2 in a similar way as you do the M Roadster.

I used to love these back in the day. Today, I would definitely take an M2 Comp over one.

possibly when cars go all electric
but 3900 lbs and fanatec EPS with no feedback aren't traits I'd consider "enthusiast" :D

Your Supra weighs about as much as my S204 Merc wagon did.

I guess I had an enthusiast vehicle in the eyes of some drivers.

And your Merc wagon was 1500 lbs heavier than my crx
Ultimate enthusiasts car
It's even a 2 seater exotic
We can do this all day

Not really, as the point has eluded you.

The point being that we all have different ideas on what weight makes an "enthusiast's" car. And that weight is only part of the equation.

I simply pointed out that my relatively tame diesel wagon had nearly the same weight as your sports car.

Weight is the biggest part of the equation
Power only helps in ONE direction
.......forward
Weight affects braking, turning, fuel economy, tire wear etc.
A 400 hp 3000lbs vehicle is far and away better than a 666hp 5000lbs vehicle
Both have exactly the same power to weight ratio of 0.13333

I once took a class on driving dynamics at Sonoma raceway and still remember what was written on the white board during morning check in

A great car isn't how much power you brought to play.....it is how much weight you left at home

It is not the biggest, but it is critical. Chassis height, suspension tuning, weight position and amount, etc. are all critical.

Handling is a blend of different elements. A heavy car can handle well, as can a car with weight in the wrong places. The key question is where the limits are and what the car does when there.
