Since the season is two weeks old already and nobody else started a new thread, here goes. :D

It was good to see Arsenal get last year's monkey (Aston Villa) off their back last Saturday on the road.....

The first international break is upon us.

Declan Rice's red card in the Arsenal/Aston Villa match looked bogus to me. The Villa player clearly threw the ball at his foot as he was walking away with his back turned, at least on my TV. If those two points wind up costing Arsenal the championship, I will not be a happy camper.

Liverpool looks surprisingly good for being under a new head coach. Man City, well, they're still looking like the horse to beat in 2024-25.....

Not sure I will be "up" for ManU at 0430 this weekend.

Move to the east coast, where the early matches are at 7:30 AM.....

I don't understand the allure of US college football. It isn't big here, and Army plays a few towns away from us.

Seriously though, that's why they invented DVRs and streaming. The ManU game is on USA network which I don't have, so I have to wait until Sunday morning to watch the replay on Peacock.....

On Saturday/Sunday morning, I press the power button on the Kerig, then press 550 on the cable box to tune into USA and watch whatever game is on.

Cable box? How 1980's..... :)

As an Arsenal fan, I'm not happy that two of their games so far this season were decided by referee yellow->red cards. Even so, Arsenal managed to hold off Man City on the road for the entire second half and into stoppage time with only 10 players on the pitch. The title chase is going to be interesting again this season for sure.

Seeing Aston Villa in the chase is an interesting change. I watched most of the Everton match, and thought that they played better than their current position at the bottom of the table.....

great thread idea, although my mighty chelsea have fallen off these recent years. beginning of this season I am optimistic of a top 4 finish. I have been impressed with Nottingham Forest thus far.

Notti above ManU???

Wolves on the relegation wagon since they got rid of (that running back-sized guy who was so fast and went to another league) Traoré

No surprise. Ten Hag is at the top of the betting sheet to be the next Premier League manager sacked.....

Now that the international competitions have passed, a few of the games are on today, any score/team predictions?? I think Arsenal will get 3 points off Bournemouth today.

That prediction didn't age well, plus they lost Saliba for next week's Liverpool match for the red card suspension..... :mad0260:

came here to post this lol. That sucks, very interested to see how tomorrows game between Chelsea and Liverpool end. I am guessing 3-3 draw. But I am a Chelsea fan haha

I was watching the match and it was a bad performance overall. Well deserved red card for Saliba. *sigh*
10-27-2024
Southhampton didn't look too shabby against Man City today, and Wolves pulled out a last-minute draw against Aston Villa. Neither looked like bottom of the table teams.....

Erik ten Hag was sacked at Man United today, which should not be a surprise with them currently sitting 14th in the table. Ironically, all of the NBC/Peacock (USA) talking heads were saying just yesterday in their studio post-game commentary that they figured he was safe until Christmas.....

To be fair, yesterday was a pretty decent game from Mutd. They should be al least 2 goals up by halftime. He can't get in and score al these big chances himself. But indeed, no big surprise, the suprise is that it lasted this long. Curious to see what's happening next with Van Nistelrooij.

A lot of the times, the managers always takes the brunt and the players get a free pass but Man United had several chances during the game against West Ham which the players did not take..I agree ETH getting sacked was inevitable but the players need to take their 50% aswell
