M3WC wroteThose are impressive stats. Remember, Bucs had better receivers and a much better offensive line. I look at it as if the teams switched QBs before the SB, who would win?He threw for 4,694 yards in 2022 at age 45. That would be second in the league this year. Also another playoff visit. You're right...what a legacy crushing blow.
2021 stats:
Brady - 5316 yds, 485 cmp, 67.4 cmp%, 43 tds, 12 int
Mahomes - 4839 yds, 436 cmp, 66.3 cmp%, 37 tds, 17 int

TXSTYLE wroteits been reported dozens of times that he really doesnt have much to do with football operations, other than being the figure piece that takes all the blame for everything. Which is a good strategy for McClay and Stephen. When something goes wrong, its Jerry's fault, and when something goes right, its McClay or Stephen getting the credit. His Senile ass is so out of touch, I'm actually surprised his own Family doesn't force him out of Football.
Shottenheimer was Stephen's pick, with the input from Dak and other players. Several reports were out there that Jerry wasnt sold on him.

Anyway, it would've been amazing to leave on top, won SB, mic drop. The rest that followed was just meh cuz unless he repeated, it's going to be a letdown, as that's the main pt instead of padding stats, right?
lakefront wroteAfter having Quinn in Dallas for a few years and watching his defense every week, I wouldnt say he is a great DC. Above average, sure. But not great. Is he better than Dan Quinn.....or even Mike Zimmer? Doubtful. Once they have to pay Parsons they will have 3 of the highest paid players at their positions.
In Dallas, his defense feasted on pass happy offenses and below average offenses, but anytime they came up against a team that could run the ball, they got exposed.
And same thing happened in Washington. Washington was 30th against the run this season with Quinn. Dallas was 16th, 22nd and 16th against the run with Quinn. All while Washington had the 2nd easiest schedule in the league.
Washington went 2-4 in the regular season against teams over 500, and gave up over 31ppg in those games. (they averaged 23ppg on the season).
If Eberflus can give us a balanced defense, i would say he is doing better than Quinn did in dallas.
M3WC wroteThe only thing I can say at this point:Better than Zimmer, yes. Dan Quinn, probably not. But Dan Quinn's last game with Dallas he completley f*cked it up. Played man coverage all year, dominated. For some reason switched to zone for playoffs, gets torched.
It appears that the entire Coaching Staff is being overhauled with Younger Coaches across the board. This is not entirely a bad thing. But... I still refuse to buy any Tickets or Merchandise until this Team reaches the NFC Championship game, period!
Jerry needs to sit TF down and count his Billions and let the Football Minds run shit and take charge.
TXSTYLE wrotekinda exactly what i was talking about above. The only thing I can say at this point:

Jerry takes all the heat off stephen and mcclay, who are actually running the show.
Stephen took over the financial aspects of the team 12ish years ago. He has a much more conservative approach than Jerry ever has. He relies on McClay for player evaluation, and tries to moneyball it from there.
Think back to the 2000s. Jerry was constantly making big signings and trades, that didnt exactly pan out, but that was what he was known for. Galloway trade, Roy Williams trade, Brandon Carr fa signing, etc. Since that Carr FA signing, the cowboys havent made any big splashes. Theyve mainly relied on drafting and finding value players that come cheap.
Also applies to coaches. When Jerry hired Parcells, he was one of the highest paid coaches in the league. Even Garrett was paid top dollar. But with the last 2 coaching hires, they havent opened up the pocket book to pay a coach.
Mike Fisher kinda touched on it on his live stream yesterday at the 17:30ish mark. https://www.youtube.com/live/UQ3kPEPVAeM?si=ivnv4-WZMP1TNpPT&t=1054

JMcLellan wroteThat was a major ass-whooping. I didn't even bother to watch the second half, I knew it was over before halftime. Good on Philly, they deserved it. I'm happy for Saquon Barkley getting his SB win, he's a good dude and a great RB.What an ass whoopin. Good for the Eagles.

vreihen16 wroteTo avoid the rig, you gotta win BIG!Too big to rig.....

Sweet justice seeing them squirm for many hours. Luckily, refs were kept out of it for the most part. I almost felt sorry for them Chiefs...almost.
Naw, who am I kidding?
