hey all,

for canada at least...if you configure an x5 on bmw.ca you have the option of two sets of winter tires, one 20" square 275s and one 21" 275s front and 315s rear. style 748 and 741 respectively.

i was leaning toward the 21" as it more closely matches the summer config with the nice wide tires on the back (i realize that isn't the best for performance but willing to trade for looks)

i asked the dealer and he said the 21"s weren't showing as an option for the 2025 m60. anyone intending to use these?

Personally, I’d go for the square setup which would be better for safety and your wallet. You can’t see them while driving or likely when parked in the garage, and nobody else will really care. It’s winter, and the whole thing could be covered in salt…They’d allow you to rotate them between seasons, extending their life. They always recommend narrower and taller sidewalls for best grip and protection from those potholes you can’t see covered in slush or snow.

I have a friend that lives in Woodstock…that area can get some wind-driven snows that can pile up.

I have those 21”s and putting them on next weekend. It’s a staggered set-up with 275s up front and 315s at the rear. Driving an M60i

I decided to go with the 748M. Since the wheels are black, they don't look as small as typical 20" wheels.

Thanks, my m60i is also black so now I know exactly what it will look like with the 748m. As others mentioned - better for wallet and performance too. Just needed to see that they looked good too.

If you have some extra cash laying around, get a set of spacers.

In the pic above, that's with no spacers. I picked up spacers after the winter!

Any of you guys rocking 20" wheels have issues with the wheel fitting on a M sport package large front brake calipers?

Your wheels 20x9?

Thanks for any reply.

Thanks for the quick reply man, appreciate. Dealer wants $5,500 Canadian for the winter wheel package. I can get the same tires, and a wide selection of better looking wheels for 3,000 - 3,500 and save a couple grand.

Picking up the car in two weeks and trying to get the winter wheel / tire sorted before then.

Hard to find the specs of the 748M wheel they offered, I believe its 20x9 +35.

a + 35 offset should work from what I can see.

What do you think?

That is my understanding of the offset so they should be fine.

Always stay with OEM rims
You will not save money going with aftermarket staff at the end of the day

Picking up 2026 in two weeks with 22' wheels all black just like yours. Now I see how it will look with winter wheels. Thanks for sharing the pic.

Hi, just a question. What was the main reason for installing the spacers? Was it for the looks or was a clearance issue with the 748M rims.
