K9-44 wroteThanks for the info. If that's the case and they send us new outer pipes I'll hold off on installing the tips.I asked the shop that I purchased my system from and who also did the install to reach out to Valvetronic and discuss with them the issue of the outer exhaust pipes being too short.
We spoke today and the shop stated that Valvetronic is currently working on a revised version that might be ready in a few months. I asked if Valvetronic will be replacing mine at no cost and he didn’t have an answer.
I plan on reaching out to Valvetronic directly next week. I feel since they are doing a revision then they clearly know there is a problem with the original design and it should be replaced at no cost to me.

apeas2 wroteGood question, guess I'll have an answer when and if I decide to have the tips installed. I have been looking at the available video's and the bottom-ass-end of my car and it doesn't look good. It appears that the muffler and several pipes could be in the way. It definitely looks like the bumper cover needs to come off to get the trim inserts out. Maybe somebody who had a hands-on experience will share...Can you get the trim pieces off with the muffler and bumper cover still on the car? I wonder how accessible those screws are with muffler and cover still on
BSfmAZ wroteBumper cover has to come off. I think I’ll do that in the morning if I wake up early enough. aussieintexas wroteYou can use your existing SST controller instead of the Valvetronic unit. When the valve Tronic exhaust is installed, do you have to use the valve Tronic valve controller or can you use existing one? For example I have a an SST valve controller on it at the moment and I want to continue using that so will it just plug straight into The valves mechanism on the exhaust or do they have to actually put the valve mechanism? Sorry if it sounds like a dumb question but I’m getting installed tomorrow and I have an unpacked out of the box yet and the installer asked me about it.

aussieintexas wroteYou'll need to put the oem actuators on as the plug is different on the valvetronic. When the valve Tronic exhaust is installed, do you have to use the valve Tronic valve controller or can you use existing one? Csaint422 wroteIs that a plug and play job? And they wil operate the same? You'll need to put the oem actuators on as the plug is different on the valvetronic.
aussieintexas wroteIf you use valvetronic controller you can use the actuators that come with the exhaust if you're using another valve controller you'll need to put the oem actuators on. It seems the actuators that come with the exhaust have a different connector than the oem actuators. Is that a plug and play job? And they wil operate the same?
Or if you mean will the oem actuators fit on the valvetronic exhaust, then yes that is a plug and play. Remove actuators that came on it and replace with OEM from the stock exhaust
Csaint422 wroteInteresting the installer just contacted me. Said the actuators of the OEM doesn’t fit onto the valve Tronic exhaust. aussieintexas wroteWeird they swapped mine no problem. Unless he's talking exhaust (valvetronic actuator) and oem as OEM wiring. Csaint422 wroteYeah I’m talking about the actual wiring - allowing me to use the oem harness not the physical actuator. Not sure if that’s the same thing that you were talking about.Weird they swapped mine no problem. Unless he's talking exhaust (valvetronic actuator) and oem as OEM wiring. Or leave the valvetronic physical actuator and take the connector off the valvetronic wiring and put in on your existing valve controller wiring. (Second picture)
Csaint422 wroteI contacted Valvetronic and they told me that in this Bill apparently the OEM ones can’t be switched out on the exhaust so I do need to put in the valve Tronic Setup. Just trying to figure out where to get the power from the rear cargo area. Seems there’s no cigarette lighter which is not an issue. There’s infuses there. But also where to get the wire through to the outside I need to pull spare out and have a look. I guess any thoughts? That needs to come off and the oem one back on. aussieintexas wroteThere should be a grommet in the bottom or look for any small opening that would fit a power wire from the rear fuse panel. Alternatively you can carefully drill a small hole and seal up the metal edges and place a wire grommet there.I contacted Valvetronic and they told me that in this Bill apparently the OEM ones can’t be switched out on the exhaust so I do need to put in the valve Tronic Setup. aussieintexas wroteThat makes zero sense at all as they say you can. I'm also pretty certain that's what they did with mine. I'll take a look at it tomorrow when I pick it up. But you should 100% be able to use oem. You can go option two though and switch the connection from the valvetronic wire with the wire from your sst control boxI contacted Valvetronic and they told me that in this Bill apparently the OEM ones can’t be switched out on the exhaust so I do need to put in the valve Tronic Setup. BzsBimmer wroteThanks. Seems there should be an existing access but I can’t find one. A few people have already installed in the M60 - wondering how there’s was done? I’ll pull the spare out tomorrow and have a look as well. Also thought we had a cigarette lighter outlook back there but appears not. Hmm. Just had a thought. aussieintexas wroteYa I had my trunk all apart and still couldn't find a grommet that made it all the way down. I found some inside and under the car but none of them that connected. So if anyone has some photos of how that works or which one to use that would be helpfulThanks. Seems there should be an existing access but I can’t find one. aussieintexas wroteFYI I got the same answer from Valvetronics about using the oem valve. I got the impression their actuators won't fit in the OEM slot? It wasn't an issue of just the connections. Haven't actually had eyes on just based on conversation with Valvetronics. On a '24 m60 there is a main fuse location in the rt. Rear area. You can splice into the cigarette lighter right above the fuse location. Its my understanding the transmitter can be placed in the same fuse location. Haven't heard anything about problems snaking the wires. BSfmAZ wroteThanks. Yeh I don’t think power Source is really an issue.
