Decided to go with the AD verses an independent who claimed they could do it quicker and for $350 vs $850. Issue is the movement completely quit working out of the blue.

Anyone else been through servicing their Rolex or any other watch?

Prefer independent
So I can tell them to not Polish everything off
They return parts that came off the watch
(this is helpful for more exotic pieces)
Also cheaper and faster

Breitling would charge more to service one of their auto watches...

Not a bad price! Was it $850 all in or plus postage. If factory redone, it will come with Rolex paperwork.

I've only had my Rolex GMT Master II serviced twice in 30 years. It winds up and keeps time whenever I decide to wear it. I don't keep it on a watch winder either. Rolex watches are a workhorse.
