For those that have the badge on the side from the factory (mostly anywhere but the US).

If you extend a horizontal line from the bottom of the badge forward towards the front bumper, where does it cross the front wheel arch?

Does it cross it at the lower part of the center of the wheel arch?

I would be very interested in a photo showing this detail. Looking forward to hearing from those members outside the US.

man, why is IND so damn expensive.
Yes they are expensive and I passed on buying from them, until, I did buy from them. And I must say they're quality on the stuff I've bought is second to none. They don't play around from what I've seen so far and I'm willing to pay extra for that kind of quality. And lastly they package their stuff like it's a heart transplant being shipped to its new donor. If it's just OE BMW Gemuine parts I go elsewhere but any of their custom stuff is good stuff.

I do have to agree, I ordered the gloss black X5 badge from another BMW parts website and it wasn't even the same font or size as the OEM, so I returned it and paid double from the one from IND and it is perfect. I'm getting the black gloss badges installed today (along with the rear spoiler), but I don't like the way the blacked out xDrive looks so I opted for the M40i one instead.

Yea the all black xdrive emblem aren't the greatest looking emblem. I went with it anyway as it looks better than chrome. Post up pics after you install the M40 one. I didn't know that emblem existed but I'd probably not go down that road. Although I did put the small M emblems on the fenders like the M60 has.

Here you go. It's actually the one from the X3 M40i which has the same B58 as our X5 40i.

Looks great! I saw all the flack that you got on your post on FB. At first glance, should there be a little more space between the M and 4 emblem? What does the spacing look like on the X3M?

Yea, to each is own. I showed them this picture and I like the way it came out. In person there is more of a gap inbetween the letters.

Thinking of getting that M40i badge. The right rear on my x5 is bare right now. I did not like the blacked out xdrive 40i.

Same with me, you can't even read it.

Are the fender emblems parallel with the fender crease line or is it parallel/level with the ground?

Parallel to the fender line, not level

Just wanted to follow up and show the difference between parallel to the fender line (how mine is installed) and level.

I assume these measurements you used to put your fender badge would g be the same for a M60i? Car looks great btw! Are you running spacers? If so, what sizes?

My assumption would be yes, although I can't say for sure, maybe someone with an M60i can chime in.

Thank you, I never get tired of looking at it! Yes, I have 12's in the front and 15's in the rear

Any issues with running spacers on these cars? I had them on my M40i with zero issues but I was on 20” not sure if having them on bigger wheels makes a difference. Also, what measurements did you end up going with on the placement?

I haven't had any issues after having them one season with the 22" wheels, I don't use them with my 20" winter wheels.

I just lined up the template like I show on post #15 and it worked perfectly, I didn't focus on the specific measurements. The template made sure both sides were consistent and parallel to the body lines.

Gotcha. It how far over from the door line did you go? I know it looks like an inch from the body line vertically speaking but horizontally speaking was is like 1.75” or more like 2.75”. I’d like to be close to where the EU specs are so it doesn’t look funny.

Mine are 3" from the edge of the fender by the front door (not the PHEV door) and 5/8" below the body line. I'm not sure if that is consistent with the EU specs, just how it landed with the white template it came with.
