So what are your predictions?

After the race in Canada we saw a very surprising outcome. Mercedes dominated the weekend with George Russel's results and only Max Verstappen could place himself inbetween Russel and Antonelli on the podium.
Of course Lando Norris made a huge mistake crashing into his teammate which resulted in no points for Norris and giving his teammate a stronger lead in the championship. Does McLaren still have the best car after the rulechanges regarding the flexiwings?
I think the outcome will greatly depend on the track temperature. The forecast now is that it'll be moderate hot, but maybe some rain during the weekend.

This is my prediction for the Austrian GP:
1. PIA
2. VER
3. NOR
4. RUS
5. ANT
6. LEC
7. HAM
8. HAD
9. ALB
10. SAI

For people who don't place predictions: please refrain from giving negative comments after the race on predictions other members have given. Nobody makes perfect predictions, and if you don't make predictions yourself, you're not showing you know better.

The real questions awaiting answers:
- Was Canada a one-off weekend for Mercedes, are are they back competing for wins in 2025?
- Will Max behaive and play it safe, or risk picking up +1 penalty point to get a race ban (Max has 11 penalty points, 2 will expire on June 30, 2025)
- Will Norris and Piastri play nice?

If the answre is "no" to any of the above, Austira should be fun to watch!

That is why we make predictions :D;)
Only after the race (and maybe qualifying) everything becomes clear ;)

I predict someone will win the race, and someone else will come 2nd, etc!

Can't rule max out for the win at this track.

Merc's speed won't be repeated. McLaren will continue to be fighting each other. I still think Norris is the more capable driver but Piastri's calm nerves means he doesn't get in his own way like Norris does. Piastri has a higher ceiling than Norris does though, imo... he'll get there.

For sure if drivers with the names 'someone' and 'someone else' will enter the race :bellyroll

I largely agree with you. When Nor has a good race weekend, he is easily well ahead of Pia. As I've said before, Pia is lucky they developed a car where tire management isnt required by and large, otherwise Pia would prob be just ahead of Ham and Ant in P6/P7 range. I also think he has been very luck to get away with some questionable moves this year (where Max would get a penalty 100%) and also very lucky he didnt DNF last race, but some DNFs are likely coming his way whether that's him and Nor or him and a general crash or him tangling with Rus or anyone else.

The track is like a big dipper ride, that down stretch is something else.

Dutch reports that Max is very close to joining Mercedes. that explains why Toto's behaviour is so strange in the last couple of races. maybe he is engineering some exit clause trigger or something.

Personally I don't think Max is going anywhere. But then again, the fact that Hammy left to Ferrari took all of us by surprise, so I guess anything can happen :D

I on the other hand, I can't see him staying. He's not happy at RB. Nobody is happy at RB. And combine that with the strangest behaviour by a team principal's reaction to his driver winning a race ... Let's see, we will know in 6 months!

I hope he leaves, while I am sure every driver is praying he stays and more importantly praying he doesnt get a good car again, because in what might be the worst driving dynamics of all the cars on the grid he is keeping up with and often beating a dominant Mclaren.

I don't see Mercedes doing well here, especially Georgina

1. Oscar
2. MAX
3. Charles
4. Lando
5. Kimi
6. Alex
7. Carlos

Georgina to DNF

That's not a binding statement/prediction.
My statement is that Max either stays at RB or he goes to MERC or AMR.
There, I'm pretty certain I now predicted the truth in the future :bellyroll

I predict more #FerrariThings :sigh:
