Miami supposed to bring back a lot of players or majority going to the NFL?
Lose a lot on defense and OL to NFL / eligibility exhaustion, namely Bain (DE), Mesidor (DE), Scott (Nickel), Thomas (S), Bissainthe (LB) on defense 3-4 OL (probably 4) and Beck. Moten (DT) was expected to return but played really well in playoffs so we'll see.

We have some guys ready to step in at DE (3 5-stars but big shoes to fill), S and OL and picked up a nickel in portal already. Top 3 RBs return. Toney returns and lots of highly regarded but unproven 1st/2nd/3rd year WR on roster. I think all CBs except Scott return. Biggest concerns are QB (if we don't get Mensah as speculated) and TE on offense, experienced DT and LB on defense and overall experienced depth. We usually have a couple of freshmen that make a significant impact. We'll see if that trend continues.

I wish they could sort the calendar to finish the playoffs around New Years Day.
And fix the stupid portal while they're at it. It's unfair to the top teams for the also-rans to be working the portal full time while they're still trying to win games. Who thought up that stupid timing? Portal should NOT be open until the final game is over.

If you fix the portal, then coach can stay put until the last game is played.

I think finishing the playoffs sooner will help with the portal overlap. Conference championship games make money but otherwise seem kind of pointless now. Start playoffs in early December. With 4 rounds, done by 1/1 or shortly thereafter. Then portal opens.

Or keep the conf championship games and start the season a week earlier.

Where we were sitting, it was 100% Miami around us. I think UM sold all its our 20,000 seat allotment to Miami fans and Miami resales mostly went to Miami fans. But the other side of the stadium with sponsor / corporate seats had a lot of red. They do have about 4x the alum base as Miami, it is a nice time of year here and this is their first championship so yeah, they did travel well.

I got game tickets at fave value but had to pay $450 for parking. Overall, prices were astounding.

I wish they could sort the calendar to finish the playoffs around New Years Day.
450 for parking that is nuts! I had no idea Indiana had such a large following. Their coach accomplished what was unthinkable a few years ago. He said there has been a paradigm change and he’s right. Next season should be interesting.

They have to fix a lot more than the portal timing like regulating payouts and kids being told to stay a minimum of 2 years when they sign.

$450 was the “cheap lot” that was walking distance via StubHub. Park and ride was $150-$200. Lots a little closer to the stadium gates (where we usually park during the season) were $800+ (and into the thousands).:bulge:

For context, I think I paid $250 for regular season parking (all games, not just 1) in a closer lot than we parked yesterday.

Indiana has around 800K alum not counting fans that aren’t alum. I think they have the largest alum base in the U.S., with Penn State not too far behind.

We probably need to get to employment status and collective bargaining before that happens but I agree. Right now, the NCAA seems too afraid of getting sued to enforce or create new rules. Hard to see how they can get the toothpaste back in the tube right now.

5k ticket, 450 for parking, 30 a beer, Miami in the Natty...Priceless. Glad you had a great time Rick. We'll get em' next year!

That’s extortion! I had no idea Indiana had such a big motivated alumni they have not won shit in decades…..
