I can't get at the 3 external screws to remove the door latch because the door won't open.
I sprayed some deep creep on each side and I am letting that sit. Opening the rear door allows me to get the deep creep in by the latch area.
Is there a trick other than removing the rear passenger door to get at the door latch screws?

is the rear passenger door the issue and only issue? I only read it at your very last sentence about which door this is.

The door is unlocked but latch is not released? how do you know lock/unlock mechanism is working?
