ScaldedDog wroteMe too mine has 15,000 miles 22 BMW X5 $8400 would not cover laser lights in a few other things I was asking about I figure it's better to put the money in the bank and just fix it as it breaks down if it ever does . Plus a $500 deductible every time it goes on for something it's a no-brainer absolutely not...I'll take my chancesI was just quoted over $9000 to extend the warranty on our '22 45e to 7y/100k from one of the outfitsTurtleBoy linked above. Who in their right mind would do that?

The best offer was about 6k.
Looked at 75k and 100k coverage
this was from another dealer (thats 60K miles on top of my current miles so roughly 100K)
BMW Platinum:
4 year 60k miles - $9225.00 (this is the furthest you can go on the warranty with BMW)
Fidelity Platinum:
5 year 60k miles - $8995.00 (this is the furthest you can go with Fidelity)
SCA wroteCorrect! Reduction in exposure by the warranty companies are passed along with heavy discounts on the same out of factory length coverage. It is advised that it is always best to purchase an extended warranty the newer the vehicle is and with lower miles than closer to the expiration of the factory warranty.

I’ll end up purchasing it regardless, but want to get the best service provider and deal.
cs5211 wroteSome say there are and some say the coverage is still capped at 84 months which includes the 4 year new vehicle warranty. That is what the BMW page is referring to.Is there a VSC contract more than 7 years. I bought the care new and am about 3 and half years in and have been offered a new VSC contract for 5 more years from the day of the contract. I have low milaege though. But if I look at the BMW page, its says the contracts are up to 84 months tops. So just making sure this is an actual BMW warranty.
AP447 wroteNot sure why you would want to at this point since you will be paying for coverage that you don't need due to the VSC. Just wait until that is close to running out and make your decision.I recently purchased the PLATINUM VSC 7yr warranty for my new 2026 50e. Does anyone know the best time to buy the extended third-party warranty?

(my second car is a 2020 330i xDrive that has had its fair share of issues over the last few years; it's at 85k miles; I don't drive nearly as much as I used to, so my X5 will have far less miles by the 6-year mark, but I've seen what some of the repairs can cost as you get up there in miles).
If anyone is looking for a VSC, I'd highly recommend getting a quote from Cody.

You may want to re-quote these through Cody as he is going to have the best prices hands down. If you have higher miles that is going to have the most impact on the price but I was able to pick up mine for what I consider a bargain price on my M60i through Cody.

For reference, I just bought the vehicle used from a 3rd party dealership, 2023 with ~22k miles.
BRG05 wroteThat's a great price on a 2023 M50i from Cody! The low miles really kept the price low. I take it you were still under factory warranty?Mr. Bowman was great to work with. Quick, easy and fair rates. I emailed him on a Saturday night and the deal was done a few days later. I purchased a 4yr/48k BMW extended platinum warranty from him for my X5 m50i for $2650 with a $250 deductible.

bono wroteIt is 4yr/48k miles from the date it was purchased.Hi, what does it mean 4yr/48k? 4 years beyond the factory 4 years?
TurtleBoy wrote1. If this new extended warranty begins when it was purchased, would there then be overlap with the 4/50 new car warranty which would seem to still be in effect for this 23 50i (actual in-service date unknown)? If there is overlap, is that why the price was so low?It is 4yr/48k miles from the date it was purchased.
2. I thought BMW VSCs were always stated in terms of years & miles from the start of the factory new car warranty (e.g., 84 mo/75k being an additional 3 yrs/25k mi). Is that procedure different for a subsequent owner of the car?
Thank you!
AlanCA wrote1. Yes, It will overlap but you will pay a lower price in general as the system knows your car still has a factory warranty on it. The lowest possible pricing will be when the car is new/almost new/in warranty.1. 2. The Bmw VSC warranty (as well as the 3rd party fidelity Platinum policy) is now Additive so it starts the day you buy it. The VSC is no longer tied to the date of service. It does not matter if your the subsequent owner it's going to be additive. The pricing seems to be heavily influenced by the miles on the vehicle at the time you get a quote. There have been various forum members who have reported different total years/miles offered on the additive Vsc depending on there model year & mileage.
***I just saw that you live in California, if that is the case it seems that due to some California Laws interacting w/ the Bmw VSC that it's not additive there yet(I honestly don't know the specifics thou). There have been various reports on this but you can always ask when you get a quote. Also, from what I understand, the Fidelity Plat plan is not effected by this and is additive from the day it is purchased.
TurtleBoy wroteThanks I was trying to gauge once to purchase it. I have all the packages and from what I’ve understood. Electronics seemed to fail past seven years. eljackso wroteCody is the GOAT when it comes to pricing. It's crazy that I had some quotes that were almost $1,000 higher then Cody's. So many F/I managers try to make a ton of $$$$ on these warranties as there pure profit & take advantage of people. Yet there all selling the same Vsc product, etc. Cody has the best pricing by far & he gets right back to you to boot!I just purchased the BMW Platinum VSC (7y/100k w $250 deductible) through Cody @ Galleria BMW for my 2025 x50e; his pricing beat every other dealer by a wide margin - 30% better than even my own local dealer.
