At my wit's end. Love the car, but starting to wish I never bought it. 2021 X5 xDrive 45e. Bought it at Carmax 1.5 years ago, and last month is suffered a total electrical system failure. BMW refused to honor the warranty because I wasn't the original owner. $8k to fix. When I picked it up, I got a message that the charging flap was open, even when it wasn't. Assuming this was related to the repair they did, I took it back. They say the "charging door has failed," and they claim it's NOT related to the work they did before, and it will be another $700 to fix. I want to scream. After borrowing to pay the $8k, I don't have another $700. Can anyone tell me what part I need to order to replace a "failed" charging door, and point me toward any tutorial that might help me fix this?

Warranty should be for the car regardless of 1st or 2nd or 3rd owner. If you are within warranty, I would say contact BMWNA for resolution and reimbursement?
