I have an issue with my 2004 BMW X5. I have tried a lot of things to get this code fixed. I will list all of the solutions I tried below. After each fix, I deleted the code and went for a 20-mile test ride. I will try to keep this post straight to the point and would love all of the feedback I can get. I need to pass the smog on this car.
Problem: P1093 (1/1) Stored Pre-Catalyst Fuel Trim System Too Rich Bank 2 DTO Severity 2 of 3:Repair immediately if there are drivability issues.
Attempt 1: I tried removing the air filter, thinking that the engine was not getting enough air and that is why it was running rich. I also swapped the MAF sensor.
Attempt 2: I swapped the O₂ sensor places and put the bank 1 sensor into bank 2 manifold exhausts—put bank 2 sensor into bank 1 manifold exhaust,
Attempt 3: I swapped the fuel injector bank, putting the first 3 injectors to the back and the back 3 injectors to the front. I also cleaned them up and the slots they go in.
Attempt 4: I removed the coils, checked out and replaced the ones that were in worse condition, and also pulled out the spark plug and cleaned up the sparks.
