I have the matte trim in my X5 that prevents fingerprinting and smudges. Preparing to order a 2026 replacement in white and cognac seating. Any opinions on the gloss fineline trim being an irritation or is it a non issue? I like the look buy....

Which trim looks best to you?

I currently have the A-B Poplar matte (mineral white, Tartufo) and it is my choice.

I had the fine line in my ‘24 (manhattan green, cognac) and while it matched well, you could see the dust accumulation within minutes (seconds?) after wiping it down. Which I did often to little avail.

Fingerprints around the shift lever are a problem with the piano black. So you’ll keep that area wiped down whether you have gloss or matte trim.

All of the gloss trims will show fingerprints, the Fineline Black Wood particularly badly. If that will annoy you, I'd pick one of the matte woods.
