Looking for experience or options on the best choice for interior all-weather mats. Looking at TuxMats, but also have experience with Weathertech and BMW All Weather options. Not a fan of large logos, so that is a concern with Weathertech or 3W. Any thoughts?

Ordered tux mats before getting the X5. Went with them because they have higher edges, but read they're difficult to remove if you wanted to clean them out of the car. Tuxmats won't get the trunk until Dec timeframe so purchased a Weathertech one for the time being.

Received all and the quality on the tux mats are good. Weathertech as you probably already experienced, are more of a hard plastic whereas tux mats are like a vinyl outer with a little foam inside to give it some texture.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention 3D Kagu mats. They fit well, clean up easily and are classy looking with a uniform texture and an inconspicuous logo. If I recall, their website uses an X5 as a model so you can really see what they look like.

I went with the BMW set, they make both a high-rise side and a low rise. I went with the low rise because I plan on keeping them in year round. If you have the diamond stitching on your seats, the design on the mat really brings the look together.

Here are some stock photos of the high-rise mats, only slightly more expensive. By the way, when I ordered the low rise mats, only the driver side had the Velcro, but they fit so perfectly. I don’t feel like they would even be necessary on the passenger side or rear. BMW might even sell the round Velcro pads to stick to the end of the side of the mat, but not positive.

I got the BMW OEM all-weather mats since I could get/see them locally. Compared to ones I got years ago for 3ers, these are flimsy and lite, so don't sit flush. I hope they lie down better over time.

All lack the circular velcro patches and lack bottom surface features that would grab the carpet. Nubs would help!

Front ones fit tight and stay put.

Rear ones shift enough to matter. I had to return/exchange one of them, as its corner nearer the BMW logo was slightly raised such that debris would get underneath and passengers would nudge the mat when entering. Maybe it got warped in retail storage.

The all-weather cargo mat is good quality, and allows you to lift the floor hatch w/o removing it. Though, it actually does not fit the cargo footprint along the side lobes. Yep, the mat covers the lashings near the hatch. Oddly, the mat surface shows an outline of the lashing areas.
The Wtech cargo mat is an example that seems to fit the side contours.

For all above, the mat top surface is rough and marks easily (esp. cargo). IMO, that makes them harder to clean. The heavier, rubber OEM mats I had before had a smooth finish. The bottom surface should have numbs to grab the underlying carpet.

I got the OEMs (dealer throw in) and they're fine

+1 for Tux

Great coverage and the fitment is superb. If you live in a heavy snow/salt area your carpets will be pristine.

I have tux and like them but next time if I can get any sort of deal on the BMW branded all season mats I'll just go there. The quality is great as is fit and style

Only issue with Tux Mats is they sell front and back as a set.

You can't buy just the front. I started with OEM mats (not floor liners) but they were too thin and small for winter coverage (will run them in summer).

Just got the 3D Maxspider mats for front and like them - don't have rear seat passengers in winter really.

The rear has so much coverage it’s worth it. Tux mats just cover more carpet. No brainer for me with ski trips and the salt they use in New England…

I have a set of the OEM ones with the velcro attachments on the bottom for sale if anyone is looking for those. $100 for the front and rear + shipping costs. Located in Long Island, NY if you are local and want to pick them up.

I ordered a set of the "taller sides" OEM all weather mats and share the confusion around the velcro (or lack of velcro).

From what I can tell, BMW only feels velcro is needed on the driver front mat and not on the passenger or rear mats? I say this because:

1. the driver mat is the only one with velcro (actually; not velcro, but rather the soft loopy material designed to be attached to velcro hook material)
2. the driver mat box came with a pair of adapters and instructions showing we should remove what came with the vehicle and install these into the floor. These clearly hold on to the driver side mats very very well. maybe too well to allow removal for cleaning?

I have regular OEM mats (not the tall ones) and only the driver came with the velcro as well. No other adapters anywhere or anything.

WeatherTech has a new material that is not the hard plastic. I believe it's called HP and it's more of a rubber type material. I ordered the 2nd row liner and it's much better than the old plastic ones, which they still sell.

SeekTheFinest's user avatarSeekTheFinest I looked at WeatherTech and TuxMats, but ultimately came back to the OEM mats. They look great, fit great, and so far have been perfect height-wise. I watched a lot of videos on WeatherTech, and they always seemed to bend and lose shape. Someone here mentioned they changed the material, so maybe that isn't an issue anymore (which would be good!). But as a whole, didn't love the look of any others except the OEMs. Been very happy with them this winter. GetBMWparts.com is a great site to pickup OEM items at a discount (code BORY saved me a little more as well). Hope this helps!
