I just lost my car settings on both my profile and guest profile after activating valet mode. When i activate my profile back suddenly nothing is changing, i.e. climate temperature, seat position, hud, driving asst., interior lighting, comfort access, and even the language. I tried to recall my seat position but it showed no position is saved. The only retained settings are audio and maps. Has anyone experienced this?

My wife had the X5 out of town the last two weeks. I got in it today to run some errands and it had forgotten my profile. Still had the phone paired, but no memories of seat position, etc. Her profile is intact.

Can’t tell if it is related to anything like an OTA update, key in use (we keep them separate so this was on my key), etc.

Some day when I’m bored I’ll set it up again, maybe. PITA.

My settings on my own profile and guest profile are also gone after activating valet mode. I had to resetup again.

On my 2016 F30 340i, I can export saved profiles to a USB drive or stick and import it back to the car or another F30. Does anytime know if the G05 has a similar feature that might help export and save profiles?

I just checked on my car, there is no option to export the profile settings while i have a usb drive plugged in. The only option is to sync the BMW ID profile.

profile is saved to the cloud, that's the whole point of the BMW ID and myBMW app. Putting your profile on another vehicle (e.g., loaner) pulls the info from the cloud save and puts it on the car.

But the problem was when i tried to sign in to my profiles settings, it failed to load the settings. After that it seemed the profile was overwritten with the current settings and the worst was it was valet mode. The only setting i could salvage was the last seat and mirror position. Other things like ambient light, brightness, hud position, driving assistance, climate, comfort access went back to factory settings.

Same thing happened to me. I tried to recreate it at my house and couldn't. I took it to the dealer and they tried to recreate it and they couldn't. Then when I retrieved the car at the end of the day, of course, all my settings were wiped. I thought it was because they had done a factory reset. I tried again to recreate the valet mode scenario with their master tech in the car and we couldn't, so I went home.

Fast forward a few months and I had another opportunity to drop the car off with a valet. It wiped all the settings again. Worst thing is it doesn't just wipe my settings. It wipes my wife's settings too. :thumbdown

Anyone else have this and was able to recreate the scenario? My dealer thought I was crazy (and probably still thinks I am).

It seems like i'm not the only one. You can use guest mode instead. As i far as i remember if i use key card, i have to input pin to log in back to my profile.
