I found this link on bimmercodes page a few months ago. It wasn’t available at the time but it’s available for purchase now. I don’t mind the price tag, but can anyone verify if this actually disabled the auto start/stop?

Here’s the link.

I don't think we had anyone try ot yet as it inly came out a few weeks ago. They are a good company so it should work and if not you can get a refund. Let us know how it goes.

Note that some OBD devices when left in while driving can cause weird things to happen. If you can code your vehicle, you can turn that off, otherwise, the logic looks to see if there's something there and will alert you that you left something in the socket.

To follow-up on this, it looks like this device will only work on the pre-LCI models and not the LCI.

You can control the Valves from BimmerLink also.

With this news maybe BMW will have to legally allow owners the option to disable ASS with future update
No, not at all. Just like they weren't legally required to have ASS, they won't be legally required to remove it.

Ah I thought some legalities were in effect here. Thankfully my software hasn’t been updated.

It would be nice if on the next software update they give you the option to turn it off once and it remains off unless you push the button again to turn it back on
