I did not need any machinist work done. The bearing races were not hard to tap out nor new ones hard to drive in. Aluminum cases holding steel bearings do have have a high static interference fit. Force needed to remove and install is much less than on steel or iron cases. I have a press and a variety of press drifts to deal with the pinion bearings where steel bearings are on the steel pinion shaft.
