SCA wroteI was wondering about your DRL status. No response from BMWNA after your SA sent the DRL issue up the chain?Naturally the rear DRLs are still inoperable as they have been since RSU 03.2025.30 was installed.
I have not started the RSU, yet. My Media Presets, USB, and Nav issues remain after 11/2025.40, even though the TSB seemed to align with many of my issues.
DJHakim wroteThe matter has not been addressed via BMW NA. Local dealer wants it to be left with them for several days which is a.k.a. for we are going to take our sweet @ss time and possibly further screw up your vehicle.I was wondering about your DRL status. Odd your issues are still present too.
Edit: BTW, .50 was so minor going from .40 that it did not change anything to being set back to the factory default. Remote start was still active and as most of us know that is typically turned off anytime a RSU is performed.
jad03060 wroteFor the LCI - It doesn’t work like that any more. It downloads direct to the vehicle via its own data connection. You can even set a time to subsequently install it, or trigger the installl via the mybmw app, where you could be in another state and nowhere near the car.In the USA, the OTA update process appears to differ some from other countries. In general, once the BMW gods decide it's time for an update to your vehicle, it attempts to download the data to your cellphone. Once it is fully in the phone, when next connected to your vehicle (both BT and the internal WiFi, but not 'the internet'), it will ask if you want to upload it to the vehicle. Then, yet another step, it will ask if you want to apply the update which it then does from its internal buffer after getting the data from the phone. So, there are a few intermediary steps.
After all of that, there are various prerequisites that must be met before it will actually start the update. Some of those are:
- 12vdc battery charge level is sufficient
- vehicle sufficiently level
- parking brake on
There are a few more enable conditions that I don't remember.
Depending exactly what is updated (it's not an all or nothing...parts might be updated, and others not), some stuff may be 'forgotten', and some of it will need to resynchronize with the servers, and that's a network that may also take a day or maybe even longer to hit all of the servers.
Some stuff needs to see at least one, and maybe more than that individual drive cycles as not all data is exchanged each time, before it all completes.
Most of the things that can be done remotely and require privacy permissions won't work again until you re-enable those permissions.
It's somewhat convoluted, but in most cases, if you wait long enough (and actually drive the thing!), it all sorts itself out in the end. It won't [...]
You can still download the update via your phone if you want but it’s certainly no longer required.
Wsheys wroteI hope this arrives via OTA soon. I thought 11/2025.50 was clean, but since I've had issues with iD 8.5 re-ordering my Presents, wiping out all my mobile connections, and preventing me from skipping among presets (fwd/back, buttons and GUI controls). I've had to Vol-button reset iD multiple times the last couple months (did not fix issues most of the time).Just picked up car from being serviced. 03/2026.32 was installed. The usual resets occurred i.e. automatic parking brake, remote start, etc. Will update as features further explored.
(Issues may be related to SIB 65 27 25.)
After updating, some settings were reset (tailgate opening behavior, e.g. kick-to-open not working anymore, not starting in driving mode electric individual anymore, not taking over speed limits from speed signs, etc).
I manually re-toggled these settings and now it seems to work fine.
Navigation now auto-suggests destinations based on my daily routine routines (their so-called AI based navigation). Quite useless however for my 2 km kindergarten-run, where I do not need a smart strategy between ICE and electric.
SCA wroteI wanted to provide an update to this. This past Friday afternoon I spotted a Skyscraper Grey G05 LCI with its rear DRLs inoperable. A first locally, other than our own. I am highly confident that the owner is unaware of this. Our ‘25 was running dealer installed 11/2025.40 that was installed during the vehicle’s first annual service on December 23, 2025. I was prompted to update to 11/2025.50 yesterday afternoon. So far it appears to be business as usual. Naturally the rear DRLs are still inoperable as they have been since RSU 03.2025.30 was installed.
