The wallbox is installed and charging correctly, and smart meter communication appears to be working normally. I completed the installation wizard successfully, and I can also connect my iPhone 16 Pro to the wallbox hotspot / AP, so that part seems to work.
The problem is that I cannot find the “Data connection configuration” option anywhere in the Wallbox Installation App. I also do not see the BMW Wallbox option in the my BMW app under the Charging section. It should be under the Services sub-section.
What I’ve already checked:
• 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi is enabled on my router
• I am already in Expert mode
• I checked the full Setup menu
• the option is simply not there
• I also tried opening the wallbox local address in Safari while connected to its hotspot, but no web interface opens
Wallbox details:
• BMW Wallbox Plus Gen 4
• Firmware: 01.20.06.71
So the charger itself works, and the meter communication seems fine — the only issue is that I cannot access the Wi-Fi / data connection setup because that menu is missing.
Has anyone seen this before?
I’m wondering whether this could be related to:
• a Cyprus / regional market restriction
• firmware version
• app version
• iPhone / iOS compatibility
• or a known bug
If anyone has the same wallbox and managed to connect it to home Wi-Fi, I’d really appreciate your advice.
