What’s the current status of getting an X5 allocation in DC metro area. Also willing to travel within reasonable distance (preferably PA).

We did have a great repeat customer relationship with Otto’s BMW in West Chester, PA. Ordered my X3 M340i there. But last purchase was a few years ago and they have since been sold and most of our contacts are gone so not sure how much preferential treatment we will get at this point.

I’m hearing it can be really hard to get an allocation in DC Metro. Any advice?

Is it still true to expect to pay a deposit when given an allocation (if so how much?) and that I should not need to pay over MSRP?

Oh, and there was a $1000 deposit.

Allocations should be fairly plentiful. You should be shooting for a 10% discount from MSRP before incentives. Whether or not you need to make a deposit would be up to the dealer.

The dealer gets the allocations and they are based on a formula which uses sales volume as a major factor.

good to know. i assume this means NJ/CA dealer orders go to the front of the line? i'd imagine sales volume is the highest in those states.
