Hey everyone,

Excited to finally join the M60i club! I just got word that my custom build has been dispatched from the factory. I worked with smithf80's user avatarsmithf80 Scott (Insight Auto Consulting) for this order. He got me 10% off on the MSRP and 1.99% rate plus corporate incentives. The process was incredibly smooth, and he really helped me navigate the allocation and pricing. Highly recommend reaching out to him if you’re looking for a broker who knows the BMW market.

The Timeline:
  • Ordered: February 21st
  • Production Queue: February 23rd
  • Production Completed: March 7th
  • Dispatched from Factory: March 8th
  • Estimated Arrival at Dealer: March 12th
  • Scheduled Pickup: March 14th

The Build Specs:

Exterior: Carbon Black Metallic
Interior: Coffee Extended Merino Leather w/ Anthracite-Brown Poplar Matte Wood
Wheels: 22" M Dual-Spoke Black 742M (Summer Tires)

Selected Options:
  • 2-axle air suspension
  • Executive Package
  • Climate Comfort Package
  • M Sport Professional Package
  • M Sports Package Pro
  • Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound
  • Driving Assistance Professional & Parking Assistance Packages
  • Front massaging seats & Leather Dashboard
  • Alcantara Headliner

Next Steps & Mod Advice:

I’m already planning the aftermarket phase. I’m leaning heavily toward an exhaust upgrade because the S68 engine is a bit too quiet for my taste from the factory. I’m currently looking at:

dAHLer Stage 2: Heard great things about the build quality and the valve control, but I haven't heard many clips on the M60i specifically.
Valvetronic: Seems to be the go-to for maximum aggression.

Has anyone here installed either on an LCI M60i? I'm curious about the drone levels in the cabin when the valves are closed.

Also, what other "must-have" mods would you recommend? I’m already thinking:
  • Full front PPF & Ceramic Coating (Carbon Black is a pain to keep clean!)
  • Windows Tint (Do I need to get sunroof tinted?)
  • Front/Rear reflector deletes (IND)
  • Spacers to flush out the 742Ms? (What size are you guys running—12mm/15mm?)

Looking forward to sharing photos once I take delivery this weekend!

Hey everyone,

Congrats on the new car, would love the hear the exhaust if you get it done or any other options regarding the exhuast. I am trying to figure out what to do with mine, It sounds like a Honda accord for such a mighty S68 that's in there. Disappointing do to the Eu noise regs they had to follow. The previous m50i sounded 100% better stock by comparison. The P1 exhaust sounds real good on the m60i, however, it's about $4200 shipped and about $3400 around the holidays. It prob the best sounding one I have heard so far.

Nice. Enjoy.

Regarding sunroof tint, some shops won't do it due to bad experiences with glass breaking due to trapped heat. The shop I use here in South FL will only tint a sunroof with a light shaded (ie 70%) nano ceramic film. This type of film will not trap much heat and should not contribute to glass stress. That said, they do not recommend tinting the sky lounge panoramic sunroof due to the embedded lighting and potential for warranty claim denial.

Thanks for the suggestion! I will look into P1 exhaust. Have you heard P1 exhaust in person, or just from videos? And what do think about other options like Dahler Stage 2 and Valvetronics?

No, did not hear it in person. That would be a unicorn to actually know someone that has it installed by me. From the sound clips the P1 sounds better to me then the Dahler. The valvetronic sounds the loudest however less refined. What are your thoughts? Are there any other options then these three on the m60i?

I have heard sound clips of Dahler Stage 3 and imo that sounds the best. However, stage 3 is a catless system with downpipes which would be risking the warranty. I haven't found any sound clips for stage 2. From what I've researched, Dahler is the most refined one. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any other trustable brands. Also, I emailed Dinan and they said they are working on an exhaust for m60i which would be released this calendar year.

I reached a point in life (grown up) when I decided to quit worrying about being seen or heard and simply enjoy the performance of my vehicle. Spend the money on something important such as education for your children or bourbon 🥃!
