Just noticed yesterday that when a passenger sat in and tried to use the massage function it wouldn't work!

I was surprised as it was working without issue few weeks ago!

No issues with driver side. The passengers controls all work on the side of the seat. They are the comfort seats with ventilation/heating & massage.

I have tried resetting iDrive etc but no luck with it.

What can be the cause? Any other things i can check to see what i need to change/replace?

Did you restart iDrive by holding the VOL button for 30-70 seconds? That's what another guy did and it worked when his pax side quit.

Another guy had a faulty part and dealer had to replace.

Apparently there's also a fuse for each seat.

I did the 30sec one. But no avail. Will try for longer tomorrow.

The fuse i thought of too - but i would imagine that then it would of affected the seat controls etc too but my seat controls are fine no issue with that.

I heard modules can go bad - but looked online and was a bit diffcult to locate on realoem.com

The longer (actually 90 seconds, three iDrive reboots in a row) is for a telematics reboot so it shouldn't make a difference although it won't hurt anything.

Will give it a go in the morning!

Just tried, no luck i’m afraid - iDrive restarted few times. Holded down for 90secs.

Anyway i can check the part no for the module without removing seat?

Bump!

Any ideas before i strip the seat? Any fuses maybe for the massage factor? Everything else including heating/ventilation etc all works.

So i've done a bit of testing to see where the issue can be from.. looks like it can be the module behind the seat which has the module where the air hoses.

The seat all works as it should, heating ventilation etc except lumbar support - behind the seat is where the module is. I've done some research and the lumbar uses the same pump.

One thing i need to check if there's any fuses that control lumbar support - it's a bit difficult to get to all the fuses the front fuse box under driver side (RHD).

Any suggestions welcome!
