to stop the BimmerPost website from opening the app on your phone, Android users should go to Settings > Apps > [BimmerPost App] > Open by default and toggle off "Open supported links". iPhone/iOS users can long-press the link in Safari and select "Open in New Tab" to avoid launching the app
Android Instructions
- open Settings on your phone
- navigate to Apps (or "Apps & Notifications")
- find and select the BimmerPost app in the list
- look for Set as default or Open by default
- title off "Open supported links" or change "Open web addresses" to "Don't open in this app"
- alternative: use a browser like Firefox and go to Settings > Advanced > Toggle off "Open links in apps"
- Long-press the link you are trying to open
- selected "Open in New Tab" or "Open" from the context menu
- alternative: if the app opens, immediately look at the top left of the screen and tap the "Back to Safari" button to restrict it from doing so in the future
